The Japanese resturant offer a wide variety of. Japanese dishes - sushi, maki, hibachi- I thought was teppanyaki, tempura and sashimi. The Chef was very entertaining when cooking. He interacted with us and even sent pieces of grilled zucchini cook f flying through the air into the mouth of the customers sitting around the hibachi area- when you ordered the hibachi set. I realised the American sushi here are made into larger bite size than those in japan and Asia by the truly Japanese Chef. The variety of sushi or maki is also different. Lots of avocado, tempura, shrimp, salmon filled sushi. Good for large group and family dinner gathering resturant.

Saturday evening, 5:30 reservations. Surprised that place was pretty much empty. Ordered right away. Appetizers were good (particularly the gyoza). Calamari was pan fried, which through my kids for a bit of a loop. Tentacles a little chewy, but ring pieces were excellent. Kids had ramen, which they really liked. Variety of sushi was all good. Service attentive. Will go back

Food is good, but don't expect fine dining or ambience. People in Wellesley use Yama for reliable takeout food, and ocasionally it is nice to go there to sit at the Japanese style tables in the back, with the kids.

Like most Asian fusion restaurants, it caters to the American audience while failing to deliver. Itâs trying to be unique and it achieved that, just not in a good way. Spicy tan tan ramen, not spicy at all. To be honest, it doesnât have any flavor at all, its just bland thickness. Soft boiled egg? or more precisely hard boiled egg. Rangoons are flavorful, yet soaked with oil. Would not go again.
