Decided to try out dinner here to see what a Japanese steakhouse was like in the South. Overall, we were happy with our dinner. The restaurant has the usual show that comes with the meal preparation. The food itself was good overall. Would have preferred less sweet sauce on the chicken, but it didn't spoil the meal. Also missed the ginger sauce that you sometimes get at other Japanese steakhouses. They only had the "yummy yummy" sauce here.

We enjoyed a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was relatively empty and we were seated right away. We had a very good chef who was entertaining and, more importantly, made sure our meal requests were accurate. Our food was tast and well seasoned.

This is one of those places that left me a little confused. Everything was cooked properly; and the flavors were just fine. But thereâs a couple minor complaints. First, the portions served were rather small, even for lunch. I seriously only had 4-5 small pieces of steak. Second, the service was a bit inconsistent: we had to ask for things more than once. But it wasnât deliberate: itâs as if the 2 servers were training each other on the fly.... weird. Iâm gonna give it a 4, as I think thereâs substance here; and itâs certainly better then average. Iâd suggest to stretch those portions a bit; and fine tune the service a notch. Oh, almost forgot: On positive the side; I have to say, the shrimp and veggie tempura, and tempura fried ice cream were excellent....

My children have spent so much time out of the country that every time we visit one of them, we wind up at a Japanese restaurant or a Sushi bar. Thus, this review is of the Wasabi restaurant in Montgomery, Alabama. The door of the restaurant is located around the corner of the building, at the entrance way of a food court. The interior of the restaurant itself is rather nondescript. But the service and the food can be described by excellence. A very helpful waitress guided us through the extremely large menu of sushi selections and non sushi selections. There were people in our party that ordered raw sushi rolls, a couple that ordered cooked sushi rolls, we had a smattering of the Tempura orders and my wife and I had something off the Hibachi menu. Itâs safe to say, after 2 hours of silence, there wasnât a negative comment from anyone in the group.

Came here on Sunday with no expectations. The variety of offerings was extensive and the food is good. For $10 a person, I thought it was a great deal. I didnât get anything from the Hibachi because I got full too quickly. Everything we did eat was pretty good. We were seated immediately, our waiter kept our drinks full, and the buffet was full of options which offered something for any taste! Iâm so glad we went here.

I go here about once a month for sushi, and the service is always relatively dependable and the sushi has always been good. I have never been disappointed by the food. I love the crazy roll and sweet potato roll. It comes with salad for lunch.
