I had the teriyaki tofu dinner box yesterday - very nice. Comes with miso soup, rice, fried slices of kumara, potato and courgette and goyzons (spelling? fried dumplings). The tofu and onion was really good as were the goyzons.Service is efficient. Not super friendly but certainly not unfriendly - just efficient.I like the private seating areas in the booths on the left - a touch of authenticity!Easy parking outside.I'll eat here again.

Had lunch at Kyoto restaurant. Surprisingly, the place was not very busy during lunch-time on work day. To us it's an indicator of not very popular place. However, based on quite interesting menu, we decided to have lunch there. Well. that lunch was not disappointing, but it was not good either. Service was fast, but could not say efficient. We had our mains at different time and entree came later...Quality of food was average; nothing exciting. Their attempt to create some sort of "fusion food" did not work at all. Base on our experience, I would say, it is a reasonable place for business lunch - eat something fast and move on,
Shins Teppanyaki Auckland is an amazing experience. We wanted to try something different to the usual BBQ so had friends around for a Teppanyaki evening in our home - what a cool concept! They bring everything to you-table, plates, cutlery, napkins and food-all you have to do is worry about what to drink on the night and the best bit-you get 9 coursed for $50!! The food is amazing and the entertainment from the chef was second to none! Cheaper than eating out in a restaurant and way more interactive and entertaining Book them now you won't be disappointed.
Went here... sat down ... waiter came .... sake please dry . Waiter came back ... sorry that sake has run out. Sapporo beer then. Beer came ... ordered squid ... squid came. Asked for menu again ... got it. Waiters passed me for about 15 mins. Noone caught my eye.Squid good ... beer good ... service average... didn't order anything else.
