We came here unexpectedly after travelling all the way from Victoria to find the other Japanese restaurant closed (though reported open on Facebook) nearby. Good news! This place was open and clean and we were seated promptly and served our fresh food in sizeable portions at very reasonable prices. Washrooms are wheelchair accessible. Loved the various ceramic bowls used to serve the food, the Asian decor, the cute dining booths, and a few large monitors mounted high for those sport buffs who need to watch while dining. Even more memorable was our send-off: when we got up to leave the restaurant, the servers called out âgoodbyeâ which was then followed by more loud goodbyes from the guys prepping the sushi behind the counter. Sweet. I Recommend!
Where to eat Italian food in Langford: The Best Restaurants and Bars
Inexpensive, casual, Japanese food.No raw seafood available on the menu - none at all.Several good choices and very good pricing. If you're looking for sashimi or nigiri you will be disappointed. There are also only vegetarian, beef, tempura shrimp or imitation crab rolls available. No tuna or salmon or anything like that - no raw seafood.Several good stir-fry options. I found the beef options to be very tough and chewy. Not a lot of flavour in the beef either. However the chicken options I have tried have all been very, very good.Shrimp Udon (bowl of soup with veggies, shrimp and your choice of ramen or udon noodles) is AWESOME. Easily good for two people. Ramen noodles are a thin/fine egg noodle where udon noodles are very big and thick wheat noodle - personally I prefer the ramen noodles over udon. You can also option no noodles, my personal choice, and go with more veggies in the udon.Teriyaki Meals - lots of choices - various proteins available with veggies and it comes with your choice of starch (rice or noodles) or just on a bed of veggies (cabbage). Teriyaki sauce comes separate in a small container - relatively mild so ask for the 3 'scoop' option. Again - the beef is chewy and I do not recommend but the chicken options are fantastic.Under 'Snacks' is a listing for Gyoza. These are also known as pan fried dumplings at most Chinese food places. The difference is that the pasty on gyoza is very thin - also VERY GOOD. You can really taste the filling without interference from the pastry/dough. They are quite delicate. The dish comes with a nice dip that is good for the gyoza, but I would not add the left over dip to anything else as it will overpower (based on the what I think is a balsamic vinegar base) anything else. It's still very nice to dip the gyoza in.Under 'Snacks' is also a listing or 'Chocolate Pocky' - this is the only dessert option available. These are a chocolate covered biscuit stick - about 12 cm long and a bit thinner than a normal straw. They are simple and good to share. There are about a dozen of these sticks in a package. Kids will love them as will adults.Delivery available through skipthedishes.com - $3.45 for delivery plus tip.
