Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Koror. It’s time to one-up all those people you know who brag about swimming with dolphins. How? Tell them you swam with jellyfish in Koror at Jellyfish Lake. (They don’t sting, but that can be our little secret.) For an adventurous day trip, visit Ngardmau Falls-- your tour will involve hundreds of stairs, wading across a river, and hiking along an abandoned mine railway.

Enjoy some Japanese food for good value. The bowls of Udon noodles will be dinner enough for $8,-, but the sushi is also very nice here. (Just beware: they put wasabi IN it as well, so notify staff in advance if you don't like wasabi). Another thing we like were the gyoza. The salad was absolutely massive though: we shouldn't have ordered 2, too much!

Authentic sushi and Japanese food, although over-priced. Fish was very fresh and plentiful, but if you're used to creative or fusion style sushi, you might be disappointed. What irritated us though was that the otherwise courteous server kept pushing on us what she thought we should have. She wouldn't let me read the menu at first and kept insisting I just look at photos at the back. Then we ordered vegi tempura and she insisted we have the mixed tempura. We corrected her twice and said we only wanted the vegi tempura. We were served and charged for the mixed one.

This izakaya is owned and operated by a Japanese man who is obsessed with seafood. The seafood served here is all extremely fresh and not farmed. You'll pay more here than at other restaurants for similar dishes, but you are getting better fish. The mangrove crab (which we could pick from a selection of living crabs in the restaurant) was spectacular. I also highly recommend the giant clam sashimi. It's not always available (because it's not farmed), but if you can get it, you won't be disappointed. In addition to the amazing seafood, there are typical izakaya dishes (fried cheese, fried potatoes, edamame, etc). The restaurant serves a very diverse range of drinks, ranging from sake to soft drinks. Japanese beer is available by the can along with various bottled beers. Red Rooster is also available on tap. The Red Rooster is a bit more expensive than at other restaurants for a similar size glass, but the great food more than makes up for it. The owner is very friendly and loves chatting with customers (in Japanese). If you are able to communicate with him, he can provide you with a wealth of information about fish, fishing and life in Palau. As with other restaurants in Koror, this izakaya will both pick you up at your hotel and drop you off after dinner (for free) if you call them. The owner drove us and told us about the local area during the drive.

Had lunch here last week. The food was OK, nothing great & the service was extremely slow, but friendly. Go to the Drop Off Bar & Grill, around the corner. Much better.

I ate here twice during a family trip to Palau and would return. The menu is extensive so thereâs something for everyone. Our favorites were the steamed parrotfish, taro croquettes, crab in coconut milk, mangrove clam spaghetti in a light garlic and butter sauce, hibiscus tuna sushi (beautiful edible flowers), and the Palau platter that has tastings of about 8 items. Excellent service thatâs very attentive yet not obtrusive and reasonable prices.

It's on the main street of Koror, but upstairs and bit unobtrusive. Don't let that deter you, Tori Tori is terrific. From the sushi and sashimi to the noodles, it more than satisfied our party of four. Their prices were very reasonable. We were very, very pleased and surprised by the authenticity and freshness of all our entrees. If you want excellent Japanese cuisine, don't miss it. .

There were 5 of us so we tried many dishes. Everything we tried was good. The shrimp tempura was not the same as the ones you would usually expect. Itâs much thinner batter. Donât go for ramen unless you want the instant noddles in a place of bag.
