In line with their name, "Kiwa - Ultimate" "Mi - Taste" "Ya - Place", this 20 seat restaurant offers you the ultimate tasty Hamburger Steak with may options. First, you choose the size; S, M, L, L+, and you choose how it's cooked outside; "Sumibiyaki - Charcoal Grilled" or "Teppanyaki - Iron Plate", then you pick the sauce you want; Base Tare, Onion, Pink Salt, Ponzu, Egg, Wasabi, Soy.. When the hamburger steak comes out in a round ball shape, you get to cook it yourself per your taste on a sizzling round stone, much like KyuKatsu, as the inside is raw meat. Make sure you put the provided paper apron as they'll be really sizzling. With added JPY 300, you can make it a Set, including small Salad, Rice, Miso Soup, and Soft Ice Cream for desert. It was really very tasty along with the fact it was such a fun cooking it yourself, beware there's always a long line waiting to get in.. I went there at 4:30 pm thinking there wouldn't be that many people around that time, but ended up getting in close to 6 pm.. Without the waiting, it'd be a great way to enjoy a lunch/dinner at around Hakata Station.

After a 50 minutes line up we were fully satisfied that the wait well deserved. The noodle has prominent wheat favour and cooked al dente, the sliced pork has fresh strong favour unlike sometime your ramen pork could be cold, fatty or tasteless. The soup is favourful but not heavy. The bite size gyoza were freshly cooked and yummy. The table and seating are very spacious among its peer ramen shop. I certainly shall make this one stop on my next trip back to Fukuoka.

Bream Cha-Tsuke, katsu , tempura, sashimi lunch meals were all 1080 yen each. 1.5 x more bream set for 1620 yen.Don't miss trying the dried fish powder which can be sprinkled on rice.We reserved the only live squid available on that day, eaten as sashimi and head part as tempura.Ika Tsukuri would range 3000-10000 yen, depending on its sizeThe place was filled at 12 noon with nearby office workers, better to go at 1 pm after the peak lunch hour.Instruction of consuming Bream Cha-Tsuke:first bowl - mix bream with sauce and wasabi, pour onto ricesecond bowl - addition of green tea onto riceEnglish menu available

This is a wagyu sukiyaki or shabu shabu restaurant that is renowned for its excellent quality and service situated in the heart of Hakata. It serves 4 grades of wagyu beef that is mainly beef shoulder with lots of petite appetisers. The waitress will cook all your sukiyaki beef in front of you and guide you through the course to proper tasting of this dish. The service is exceptional and you are utterly felt most welcome in this traditional restaurant as a foreigner.

Yari Udon serves authentic Hakata Udon, which is a bit softer than the type we have in other cities or in overseas. They have these special toppings - fish cake and burdock. We enjoy our udon experiences here. They have Chinese/English/Korean menu and the staffs are very friendly. We enjoy our udon including the springtime clam and egg udon. It is a nice place for a quick fresh udon lunch.

Hands down, hand on heart the bestest best unagi I have ever had. So yummy! Perfectly seasoned and grilled to a slight crisp. Do yourself a favour and order at least 4 pieces. There is no difference between the different options for the unagi. Either go for the donburi (bowl) with the eel served on rice or the kabayaki which serves the eel separately. As many have stated, they accept only cash. Ambience is peaceful and comfortable. Western seating in a traditional setting. This will be my must go eat in Fukuoka!

Hard to find but worth the getting lost underneath the station for this place. No English menu - you have to pick from the pictures outside - and then purchase tickets from the vending machine!! But food is great quality and staff are super friendly. Lots of great vegetarian options too - in fact the restaurants 'special' is vegetarian tempura and it was yummy!

Ippudo, our ramen restaurant, was first established in 1985 in Hakata, Fukuoka. Currently in 2017, we have over 100 stores throughout Japan. In 1990, our founder, Shigemi Kawahara, entered the Hall of Fame for winning the the ramen competition of the show
Bit more expensive than most ramen restaurants and probably not worth going out of the way for...but it's still great ramen and its convenient location in Hakata station was perfect as we had an hour to kill between trains...the staff were friendly and all spoke pretty good English...

I was recommended by local to this best tempura place in Fukuoka. Originally we wanted to visit Tenjin's branch but it was closed. When we arrive on a Sunday night, there is quite a long queue and we waited for at least 30-45mins for that. They served the item one by one. Once it comes out from the deep fried, it served to you immediately. So it is fresh and nice. I like the batter, mine slightly oily but my friend's one just nice. There are 4 kinds of side dishes, most table have 3 only, probably because the sweet potatoes are not available anymore. I like the Daikon and sweet potatoes. Tempura is really nice with the generous sauce they gave. If you are here and transport is not an issue(of course with long queue), you should try this.
