Went on a whim with some Japanese friends. It ended up being a great experience. Make sure you get a Koshigen (sp?) bowl. It's a historic restaurant that's been there for decades. Make sure you go there during lunch or early dinner if you don't want to wait hours for seating.

We ordered two different versions of the pork plates and both was excellent. Nice taste, nice product and nice kitchen. The service is nice and the prices are cheap, except the beers. We sat on the zabuton and we ordered cold soba & tempura combination meal. It was so delicious! This is a very beautiful location. The sign says ãã° on the main road(highway 27)where you turn so it is easy to find. I highly recommend this place for lunch.

My Japanese friend brought me to his restaurant, during our recent trip to Kamakura. This is a very quaint, traditional Japanese restaurant. If you are lucky, you might get to be seated beside the windows, overlooking the small but beautiful garden. The food there is of very good quality and service is top notch. As expected, the food was obviously very well presented too. If you want to experience the authentic Japanese dining experience, you should definitely give this a try.I am not sure why this restaurant is not more well-known among the foreigners though (maybe due to its location?), as we were the only foreigners in that restaurant.Offsite parking is available at the side of the restaurant.
