Will return. This is a small resturant, with neat wood and pipes decors, recycling? Great! Food and service are good, clean bathroom (the hook ..). Like their varied tableware. It's Sunday night, all dinners are Asian except our table (minus me ha ha ha). At time, the noisy is deafening. For the past couple of years or so, I noticed the soy sauce on the table are low sodium, and they used to be in green caps, to indicate the low status, but now they're hard to tell. Not sure why - healthy? But is the low sodium healthier than the regular soy sauce? Also, the disposable chopsticks, inside a sealed paper pouch. I really don't like them but it seems more and more restaurants are using them. There are many kinds of chopsticks that are easy to clean... Save our world!Street parking, free after 6pm. There are parking lots nearby.
We have eaten here several times and know that we can always count on having an excellent meal. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is top drawer, presentation is lovely and there is a huge variety of sushi, sashimi, tempura and combination platters on the menu. Some of the latter, served in large bamboo boats, are spectacular to behold. I heartily recommend the miso soup, brimming with tofu and scallions. Service is friendly and accomodating, but definitely could be more attentive. They do a brisk business in takeout, so the kitchen is usually pretty busy. Great care was taken with the decor: Chinese Red walls, matching seats, soft lighting and interesting laquered wood tabletops. Prices are extremely reasonable, a real bargain. Recommended.

Went here with a friend, who thinks this is the best sushi restaurant on Long Island. Presentation is lacking here. The sushi is good, everything is very fresh, but I have had much better in other establishments on Long Island. The service is what is lacking here....they forgot to bring our miso soup, and we waited over 1/2 hour after we completed our meal for them to bring us the check - and they were busy with people waiting at the door for tables. Won't be going back.

Recently went here after a few years away. This place has a loyal following and has stood the test of time, but if there is something special about it I'm not sure what it is. The sushi is good but not great, it has some specialty rolls but not like some other places, and the service is good but can be mis-timed. It will be interesting to see if it survives the 3+ new Asian restaurant opening on the same street. Was quiet at lunch.

Lovely staff and comfortable booths. Decor is modern with Asian theme. We shared the salmon teriyaki bento box and chicken teriyaki bento box dinners. The miso soup was flavorful and not salty- definitely the best we've ever had- not normally a fan but we finished it all. The tempura was lightly battered and the vegetables were crisp, not soggy. A popular dinner place in Friday night, full of young 20 somethings. A perfect dining spot before going next door to Muse Paintbar. It has access from the municipal parking lot in the rear which conquers the parking difficulties in great neck.

I have been visiting Great Neck on business regularly for the last year and never noticed Chez Kama. In fact, I would have missed it on this visit except that as I was taking a walk there was a group of people smoking outside. After looking at the menu I decided to go inside and discovered this gem. I had the chopped salad and beef with asparagus that was served with mashed potatoes and both were fabulous. The glasses of wine were very generous pours. Even though the place was very crowded with patrons still arriving at 9 pm on a Sunday night the service was excellent and I felt very welcome even as a solo diner. I didn't have the sushi but it looked great and I will try it on my next visit.

My friend took us to Peter Lugers last night for the delicious steak and awesome bacon. He told us that he will take us to a Japanese restaurant and I did not keep high hope to have a great meal to begin with. While we were at Manhattan touring around, he called and told us that the dinner has moved earlier to 6 pm (instead of 7 pm). Otherwise, we need to wait for 9 pm. Itâs located in a premium mall with LV, Prada, Gucci and other brand name stores nearby or next to it. By the time we got there, the restaurant is already fully packed. We let our friend ordered the food since he had been here many times. I was amazed the âreasonableâ price in the menu knowing the Long Island (especially this Premium mall) is an upscale price area.We were shocked again when we saw and tasted the foods. The name says all, itâs an modern Asian including all Asian foods such as Japanese, Chinese, Thailand,... However, all dishes we had are great in layout, color, fresh, and tasted so yummy. No wonder the business is so good. Strongly recommended to make a reservation before you come to try this hidden gem. You will be shocked and fully enjoyed all dishes.

I would normally tell anyone to run away from this type of restaurant, so I was very surprised at the quality, price point and taste.A lot of tables seemed to order special rolls at about $15 each which were quite large. I mixed up a raw tuna plate with salad, ceviche and a thai beef dish.I am going back again in a couple of weeks - time to explore the menu in further detail. Don't expect too much from the decor - kind of casual to say the least but very clean, friendly and good for couples, families and groups.

Conveniently located in a shopping area. Matsaya has nice ambience with excellent selection of Rock music played in the background. My husband and I ordered the sashimi dinner which was very good. The dragon roll was excellent. The other rolls ordered were good. Good service. It is too bad they didn't have appetizers such as shumai and gyoza, but it was a nice experience and we will definitely come back.

Outstanding food & service, extensive parking with wide spots. Simply delightful. If anything I felt sorry for ownership, the restaurant remained only 50% full from 3:30 to 5:00PM, they were holding tables empty to honor reservations made for a later time. Obviously, they lost a great deal of income by doing this, Open Table had no tables available after 2:30 PM. Many people were turned away from a restaurant with many available seats.
