Things to do in Gero
This place has impressed me. A very small sushi bar, with a single kind man on bar and a woman on hot food and drinks. Anyway, he has excellent fish quality, variety and the best hand made sushi. Everything he does is beautiful, has a perfect size and tastes splendid. Beside all of this, he has a great service and attention to customers. If you go to Gero and loves sushi, this is a most place to go. If I could I would give him 6 stars instead of 5!
we was advised by the hotel staff in Gero to visit this restaurant for dinner on Saturday night. it needed phone call for advance reservation and the operating hours starting from 17.30 so we booked for our group in advance then we walked from our hotel to this restaurant ,and it's not disappointed with service and taste of food we ordered. there are many kinds of Japanese set for choosing with english menu.

Went on 9 Feb, after 830pm, so it was very quiet. The food was delicious and the dining experience was pleasant. However, the staff could hardly speak English. They have Chineses-speaking staff though.

They serve interesting dishes. They have an English menu which helped a lot. I had the KEICHAN, a chicken with veggies served in a hot pot with miso sauce. You stir your own while it is cooking and you determine how well-done you want your meal. It was a delicious sizzling dish.

This traditional Japanese restaurant is located close to Gero Station near the Venus Foot Spa. Inside you can sit at either regular tables or on tatami mats with Japanese low tables. The food was amazing and I was very satisfied with my meal. I ordered the Hida Beef Mabushi-don, which is the most popular menu item. It features Hida Beef, green onions and nori (seaweed) in a delicious stock on a bed of rice. The beef was so tender and soft that it literally melted in my mouth. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting Gero Onsen.

Unagi no Kabayaki (broiled eel) is a very popular dish in Japan. Even if you do not like Sushi or Sashimi (raw fish), I suppose that you can eat Unagi without problem. It is really delicious. Although it is a little bit expensive, it is suitable for a special occasion. Since you are for vacation in Gero, it is a good opportunity to try Unagi.
