Discover Restaurants offering the best Japanese food in Easter Island, Chile. Located in the South Pacific more than 2,000 miles off the Chilean coast, Easter Island’s not the easiest place to reach. (If you’re interested, the easiest access is by air from Santiago or Tahiti.) But isolation has helped preserve the 1,500-year-old mysterious congregation of volcanic rock sculptures (maoi) that’s the island’s biggest claim to fame. After exploring the unique landscape, relax on an uncrowded beach and ponder one of the most mysterious places on Earth.

The restaurant has been moved to a new location since December 2018. The new place is 1.5 miles farther and we needed to use a taxi or car to get there. The chef said he only uses fish caught on the day from the Island and they were excellent. We ordered omakase course which we expected several small dishes, but we got sashimi sunomono, rolls and kaisendon which fishes are on top of rice. My husband got fish.My expectation was extremely high since reading of his website. Our meal was over us$100. I didnât mind paying if he provided several course. Maybe there were only 4 guests on the day, and he didnât want to prepare many dishes.in public say all otherwise .... three times i ask if it was all well and three times said yes..... all dishes completely clean .... we talked two hours in English and Japanese and said nothing .... even took Rice that leftover to eat it to the other day ... I don't read the minds .... next time when you visit a place if you want a good experience ...... be honest .... maybe begins to enjoy more ....and speaking on distance the place is the same .... easter island (rapa nui) is a black Castle next to a volcano the number of people is limited because it is a exclusive place ......

We were (as usual) craving good Asian food and drove around trying to find Kai sushi. Location on both maps.me and TripAdvisor was wrong, but not by far. The actual location is on the opposite side of the road thatâs marked on TripAdvisor. Look for the souvenir store in the photo. The Thai green curry was spot on, sushi and ramen were not quite as close, but still tasty. Refreshing change from the usual Easter island food!
Where to eat Polynesian food in Easter Island: The Best Restaurants and Bars
On the main road of Hanga roa, is this lovely little quick sit-down for some really good sushi. There are 2 tables inside the tiny restaurant on the ground floor, and it would appear there are some tables upstairs, although I didn't go up myself to take a peek. There are also some outside tables, always nice in the midday Rapa Nui heat. The menu is excitingly vast, and tantalizingly variable from the usual California and Nigiri rolls. There are rolls wrapped in sesame, avocado, panko, nori, octopus, you name it!!Then there are the Special and Nikkei Rolls where Peruvian cuisine meets with Japanese. So much to choose from; just be sure to be firm with the waitress that you need extra time, since we felt a bit of pressure from her to order, and I felt I could have done with far more time to peruse their menu, and would perhaps have made a wiser choice of dishes.Needless to say, we were very happy with what we got - 8 pieces of fresh sashimi (although disappointingly small), and 2 other rolls, one wrapped in octopus, and the other a Tori spicy, served with teriyaki sauce and wrapped in almonds and ciboulette.Exciting, novel, fresh and fusion - if you want sushi, this is the place to go to!
