Find out what Japanese restaurants to try in Byron Bay. Byron Bay's beaches are dotted with lighthouses and surrounded by bottlenose dolphins, rays, whales and sea turtles. This former New South Wales whaling station turned tourist town is still strongly influenced by its recent bohemian past, when hippie lifestyles flourished. Bongos and didgeridoos sound in parks, sarongs and dreadlocks are common, and vegetarian restaurants abound. Give in to the casual vibe and stroll between beaches and bars for a low-key and happy day.

What a great restaurant with authentic Japanese food.It may be upstairs but donât be put off by this . Itâs a hidden gem serving fantastic food with a smile. Itâs also great if seated on the balcony to people watch while having dinner. We ate here twice and will definitely be back when in Byron.

I really haven't had a worse ramen. It was lacking depth of flavour in the broth, claimed to be spicy but wasn't, had random veggies in it that weren't ramen appropriate (eggplant??) and the mine just tasted like unseasoned fried mince. Like bologanise mince before you add the sauce... Would not recommend the 'spicy' pork ramen. Some of the rice dishes other visitors had looked good though.

I have mulled over writing this review for a few days. But I will share my experience. Food I can not fault, very tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. We had the bacon and egg roll and the jerk chicken. Jerk chicken was really tasty. The drinks iced coffee and chocolate were not as good and would benefit from being thicker as they were extremely watery however still nice. We arrived with our 2year old rescue dog who is new to our family and still learning some manners. We were greeted and offered water for him. Sat outside alone. So far so good. At first he settled, we ordered our food and started to wait. In this time he did start to cry and bark, nothing excessive and being conscious of other people my partner and I started to do the classic distraction piece. Walk away from table, try to get him to settle. As someone who lives next to a barking dog I know how irritating this can be however he was not constant or ongoing over a period of time. We were approached by a male member of staff who asked if we could quieten the dog down, as he was scaring old ladies inside. Honestly this just made me want to leave, if we hadnât already ordered I would have done so. Clearly we were already trying to do this. At this point I couldnât have felt more uncomfortable. So if you have an angel of a dog, yes this is dog friendly. If your dog makes any noise prepare to feel unwelcome.

Service good except the waitress might be new we had to repeat our order every time. Sushi is really just average comparing to sydney. Need more varieties.
