Kambei was the choice for our last night in Ballarat and was by far the best of all our dining experiences during our stay. The prompt, efficient and courteous service complimented the excellent food. We recommend the kingfish sashimi, chicken teriyaki and tempura vegetables with prawns, followed by green tea panna cotta.

Birthday dinner with a special friend and this restaurant exceeded our expectations. Beautiful complimentary vegetable nibbly and then we enjoyed a lovely wine while studying this very tempting menu. Decided on the Tempura Prawns and Pork and Vegetable dumplings to share followed by the Pork Belly and the Wagyu beef served with well steamed rice and vegetables. Service was excellent, ambience very pleasant and would definitely return to sample some other menu items.

Unassuming when walking past, but really worth going in. We've been here twice, the nori rolls are so fresh and delicious. The service is fast, food is cooked fresh, and eat in is delivered to the table. Definitely worth trying. We'll continue to eat our way through the menu!
