Garlic rice, plate lunch, omu-rice....all with local beef cooked on teppanyaki grill. Tucked back near Aso Shrine. Worth a stop.

Just off the Highway 265 from Koga falls - a small quaint shop with two fridges of a variety of tofu items which sell at a very affordable price cheesecakes at about 200 yen each , creamy tofu milk , plain tofu beancurds .. The tofu soft serve is heavenly creamy and delightful for just 120 yen. Hot tofu milk available on request .. The lady boss is pleasant and eager to please ! Definitely worth a stop!

I visited this restaurant with friends and family and had a fantastic dinner of Aka-Ushi (Aso Beef) cooked over a hot plate at our table. The meat and farm-fresh vegetables were very tasty! The restaurant was very clean and had a nice view over the pond and surrounding farmland.

AsoHanabishi is right next to Aso shrine. Many tourists visit from home and abroad. Cooking with Aso's red cattle and vegetables is very delicious. Business hours are from 11 o'clock to 16 o'clock.
You can try this restaurant after visited Aso Shrine which is clean and comfortable and with free wifi. Red Wagyu Sukinabe set was my recommended

We were looking for a restaurant on the way to Kurokawa for lunch. Good local specialties with nice staff and no foreigners spotted (at least by this time). Suitable for families and groups. If you're VERY hungry do take the set menu, otherwise it's a little too much for one single westerner (even for me that I have a big appetite).

It is the most popular Japanese-style donburi shop near "Uchakomi Onsen" which is a traditional Aso hot-spring resort. It is a matter of course that waiting for an hour in a queue every day. The purpose is only one. Superb red beef don bowl! Sweet taste is too tasty, high quality frosted meat is touching feeling! First experience!
