our dining experience was very positive. The food was fresh and tasty. I looked forward to the smoothies and blue mountain coffee in the morning. Jamaica night was awesome on the patio. But more importantly the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Five Stars for customer service. Our staff is our greatest asset and it warms our hearts to learn you were satisfied with our efforts in ensuring you had an outstanding time. FOODIES- Rise Up -This Tour is for you! Zimbali's "Farm to Table" Cooking Show is more than just a Meal- it's an Experience! Only 20 minutes from Negril, this 5 Star Retreat + Organic Farm is one of the most unique places in Jamaica. Tour the Farm, then R
We are a family that loves to cook at home and that makes a point of taking a cooking class every time we travel. From a chef who travels to our home in Playa del Carmen to catching our own fish in the mangroves and cooking them over an open hearth in Belize, we are always looking for unique and authentic flavors and experiences, and Zimbali was the highlight of our trip! We travel to Negril with frequency, but this was the first time we took our teens. We stayed at a big all-inclusive (we've never stayed at one before) and they.... hated it. They found it impersonal and generic, and when we arrived at Zimbali for the cooking class, my 14-year-old son, upon surveying the grounds and kitchen said, "why didn't we stay here?" Then we took the farm tour and my daughter said, "this is much more what we were hoping to do in Jamaica. This feels REAL." This was all before we even entered the cooking studio for our midday meal. The meal itself? Lovely. We loved the idea of a chilled salad dressing, and we will try to recreate it at home. The jerk was perfectly spiced. The sides complemented the dishes. The plating was pretty. Everything was lovely. My only complaint, and this is a minor one, was that we arrived when they were getting ready to go on holiday for a week or so, in fact, they scheduled us in, and I could not help but feeling bad that we interrupted their plans. This was not reflective of the staff in any way. It was an internal idea of mine. As such, we had a private meal, the four of us. A few tips: 1. Yes the drive is bumpy. Many many country roads are much bumpier. Relax and enjoy the country view.2. When they say "walking shoes" believe them. It is a farm tour, so proper footwear is essential.3. We brought school supplies for the local children and they were appreciated. Just give to them when you arrive.Hello Lockie, Thank you so much for brining your lovely family to Zimbali and it was such a pleasure to have you :)We love people who a searching for a real experience, wanting to see the real culture and who grow their kids to want to see the 'Real Ting!'From our family to yours- we hope to see you again and please 'come back to Jamaica' :)Blessings- Mark, Alecia and our whole Staff/Family

The first time we went they had different types of small fish cooking (escoveitch) so we took what they had, short waiting time. On other occasions we chose our fish so had to wait a short while, bought some drinks and enjoyed the atmosphere while we waited. It's worth the wait, the escoveitch fish is fantastic, with sides of fried breadfruit, festival and bammy. Can't wait to go back, a great place to stop when driving from Montego Bay to Negril. The food and value deserves 5 stars but the washrooms etc. could be better, that's why only 4 stars, but I'm going there for the food.
The Waterfront Jerk Center is Jamaica's premier rest stop and lunch/dinner spot. Waterfront is the top choice for road-tripping locals and tour guides when transporting guests to and from the airport and their tourist destinations as it provides everythin
My friends and I visited here after a stressful day at work. Food was great. The atmosphere by the water is relaxing and calm. We will definitely return. Jerk chicken sauce is the best I ever hadWe appreciate you and your friends dining with us and for that we are grateful to know that everyone was satisfied with the food and service. Looking forward to seeing you'll again.
I'm a long time visitor to Jamaica. I've eaten 100's of meals all over the island. This place is mid-way between Mo-Bay and Negril. It's about a 5 minute drive west of Lucea, on the left side of the main road. This was the best chicken I've ever had. They also are priced right, very inexpensive. We loved it so much we came back the next day as the owner said he could round up some lobster -- it was amazing -- and amazingly priced. This will definitely become the first place I stop at from now on when traveling from the airport to Negril. We cannot resist stopping at Border Jerk whenever weâre in its vicinity.Even though there have been additions to their menu, we absolutely must get both jerk pork and jerk chicken. We tend to over-order on purpose so weâll have extra to take with us.If youâre a bit adventurous, try the soup. Itâs made with cow skin (really) and plenty of vegetables and is yummy.Border Jerk is a family-owned and family-run operation. The staff is attentive, and the food is scrumptious. Not insignificantly, their restrooms are pretty darned clean.
