Toscano's has good food, great prices, good service but too noisy! I like to enjoy my dinner with conversation with those I am with when dining

Gloria's is a small, unassuming pizzeria about halfway between Winchester and Woburn. Their sandwiches are good, though I have to give D'Agostino's in Winchester Center the win when it comes to subs. The pizza here is very good. You can get pretty much anything on it, even things that aren't on the menu. As long as it's something they serve, they'll happily put it on a pizza for you. I brought a couple of pizzas home to Cambridge after hiking in the Fells (one BLT pizza, and one with steak tips), and my housemates devoured them. The service is excellent. Even on a busy day, when I could tell that all the staff were tired, the hostess still managed to greet new customers with a friendly smile. And as I mentioned previously, they'll do custom orders without blinking. What makes them really shine, however, is their steak tips. I have no idea how they manage to serve such amazing tips for less than I'd pay to buy them in the supermarket and cook them myself. Try them on a pizza, even.I'll give one warning, though--Gloria's isn't Domino's. Nearly everything is made to order, so it can take time. But as I like to say, good food is always worth a wait.

Yes its small. Cozy is the right word. The food is CRAZY good. Family operated and BYOB make it a special find. Forget the crowded and expensive North End--this is the real deal!

Donât bother. Customer service is awful and the staff will argue with you about what you want. They are very unfriendly about basic substitutions. Iâm sorry but for the price of this food I expect top-notch customer service. Basically you get Olive Garden quality food for twice the price and half the service.

Didn't have time to get to the north end this visit so very happy to find Polcaris in Woburn. Pizza is excellent and four cheese pasta good too. Very busy so make reservations. And parking lot very tight (tho still easier than north end parking). Would definitely go again

Had the best Italian sub there the other day--Old school, piled high with freshly sliced Italian meats (Mortadella, Capicola, Salami, etc.) and finished with olive oil, vinegar and herbs and a variety of toppings (hots, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, etc.). Bring an appetite, because you will not be able to eat the whole sub in one sitting--great as leftovers as well!

Not many people seem to stumble upon the quaint downtown of West Medford. It has one of everything you need... Post Office, church, pharmacy, pizza shop, local bar, and.... the gourmet Bistro 5! The food could stand up to competition in downtown Boston. Treat yourself to $1 oysters at the bar on Tuesdays. Menus change seasonally and feature fresh ingredients. It's worth one stop on the commuter rail (literally right across from the station) from North Station or a quick drive off 93!

Lucia Ristorante / Winchester is a North Shore institution, opened in 1985 by Winchester residents Filippo and Anna Frattaroli. Located in the town center, Lucia is the sister restaurant of the original Lucia Ristorante in the North End of Boston. Come ex
Lucia's is one of best Italian restaurants we have recently dined at. Atmosphere is comfortable white tablecloth. Bread service had a nicely chewy crust which went well with the olive oil on the table. For appetizers we had fried calamari and burrata, both excellent. Guazetto di Mare was a nice combination of fresh seafood served over pappardelle pasta. Pumpkin and amaretto pasta ravioli were also excellent. Portions were generous so we skipped dessert. Great place to dine.

I made plans with a friend to celebrate my birthday. When I chose A Tavola, I thought it was a different restaurant that I had previously been to and loved. But when I walked I realized it wasnât. Decided to stay and give it a try....and was not disappointed. What a great find. Great decor. Small and intimate. Great wait staff. Somewhat small menu, but great choices. We loved what we both ordered.Too full for dessert, but would try next time.I would highly recommend.

With the expansion of the deli, there has been added a sizable wine section. The variety and pricing are very attractive, among whites, reds, and roseâs. There is even a separate checkout counter, so that one doesnât have to wait long if the wine is what youâve come for. As always, the staff, led by Ralph, are affable and friendly. More than ever, itâs a pleasure to shop here.
