Things to do in Villafranca Tirrena
Era da Tanto che non andavo a prendere la focaccia al panificio Ruggeri, grande amico di famiglia. Buona la focaccia tradizionale con acciughe e la capricciosa ben condita, ma si possono trovare oltre al pane anche altre cose molto buone
Just a wonderful sunny friendly experience. Not inexpensive but well worth it. These are the extra words to make up the numbers.
Nicely placed. Siesta opened. Ordinary.Satisfied with girls service. Hardly english speaking.Very good tuna salad balance. No fri potatoes. On the whole would recommend when stayed in town for a while.

Punto Sapori is a market where to find great sicilian tipical products and cuisine. Its mission is to evaluate the great worth that Sicily has, in terms of food, nature, history, popular traditions and arts.
We visited Punto sapori on many nights during our 2 week stay near to Villafranca The staff were excellent - and helped out as we spoke a little italian , the spit roast chicken is beautiful , as were the Pizza's, Calzone , Steaks and every think else we tried , really good value for money WELL Done PUNTO Sapori

On our holiday in Sicily, we spent one night in Villafranca (5 September) and we had dinner at la Locanda del Pescatore. It turned out to be one of our best culinary experiences of our one week holiday. The atmosphere of the restaurant is relaxed and informal, the service just perfect. We first had some mixed antipasti mainly based on squid, octopus and miscellaneous local specialties. The fish was all very fresh, which reflected in a superb taste. Then we had a couple of primi piatti: seafood linguine and penne with the fish of the day. Yummy! The white wine that the waiter suggested to us to accompany the full meal was also very good.A beautiful corner of Villafranca to be recommended without any reservation!

The food is only average and the staff not service oriented, we had dinner here in the second week of January and they were still playing "very annoying" Chistmas songs. We kindely asked if they could change the music but even though we were the only table at the time, they didn't do it.

I was in vacation in Sicily with my girlfriend and we were searching for a nice restaurant. I wouldn't say it's hard to find good food in Sicily, but you could end up disappointed if you go in the most obvious places, especially if you expect to eat good pizzas. Now, this restaurant, Massoto Pizzeria, is something else. It's way more than just "good". It's almost perfection, and believe me, my girlfriend and I are extremely picky. We would never have guessed we would eat this good in a Pizzeria. Not that pizzas can't be high standards, but most of the time, let's be honest, pizzas are disappointing, and if you make the trip to Italy or Sicily expecting good pizzas everywhere, you might be disappointed.Back to the restaurant: we were staying in Sparta and were SO LUCKY to find it! It is located in Serro, a nice little typical sicilian village, hidden in the mountains over Villafranca. The view is delightful if you seat on the balcony. All of the staff, from the waiters to the cook to the Boss and the accountant woman are EXTREMELY NICE. It has to be mentioned. I wish we could teleport this restaurant in Paris, I've never seen people so dedicated to their customers. Not only were they more than nice on our first venue, they topped themselves and upped their game each time we went back (we've been to this restaurant 6 times in 10 days... Lol. It was that good, really): they offered us special treats and even contacted us on Whatsapp to check if we liked fish (because on one occasion, they cooked a variety of different fishes and it was incredibly tasty and fresh), booked a table for us, and so on.Now, as for the food: they cook the best pizzas I've eaten in my life. No kidding. And I've eaten in a lot of pizzerias and I am extremely difficult. The cook is a genius. I especially recommend the "Italia" pizza which is made of arugula, raw tomatoes, mozzarella di bufala and a nice dose of olive oil. It sounds simple, almost too simple, but... it's magic. It's fresh. It's tasty. It teaches you what a Pizza should taste and look like. It deserves the trip to Sicily alone. On Sundays, they don't cook pizzas, so we tried the menu. The pizzas were so good I was highly doubtful they could offer anything else that was as good. Man was I wrong! From the Antipasti to the last dish, they cook typical Italian dishes, from Spaghetti to Lasagna, to meat with cheese and so on. Not only was the taste wonderful once again, but the quantity almost made my stomach explode in the end :') We had to wait two days to fully recover hahahaI could go on and on. My girlfriend loved it as much as I did and she's pickier than me (I've never seen a person so passionate by good food, she has very high standards and has eaten in 3 stars restaurants in Paris, and told me that although this one isn't the kind of place she was expecting high standard cooking, she was completely taken aback and absolutely loved everything we ate there). The Staff is Gold. Too nice.Oh I had almost forgotten: the price is ridiculously cheap for products and way of cooking that are this good. For 2 persons, it cost us around 30 euros every night. You will ask yourself "yeah they just ordered two pizzas and a bottle of water". Wrong. We ordered 1L of fine red wine from the whereabouts each night, a bottle of water, along with 2 pizzas, and antipastis, and the desserts were offered to us. What more can you ask? I don't know. I'm just gutted we don't have this restaurant in Paris. I will miss the taste of their Pizzas. One last thing. On one occasion, we went to Taormina (a very nice city in Sicily but way too touristic) and we went to a 4 stars hotel to have a drink. I kid you not, nobody from the staff even cared about us because we don't look like millionaires. In Pizza Massoto, they don't care how you dress. They just love you for what you are: human beings enjoying their fine food in their fine restaurant. They have a way with the customers I haven't witnessed in years. They are humble and extremely nice people who welcome anyone. I almost never give a full 5 out of 5 review, but this restaurant deserves it. You have to go there. It's worth the trip. All the road you will make to get there will feel like finding a secret passage into the best restaurant ever. You won't be disappointed. Thanks to all the staff from Pizza Massoto, we will miss you. You and your amazing food. 5/5 ; )

Arrived late and hungry with two small children after long flight and drive. Took 45 minutes to serve us 2 pizzas and pasta with seafood (despite us asking the waitress reminding her our kids were tired amd hungry), which was in fact pasta with 2 clams and a prawn. The pizza was decidely average and to be avoided - bland.
