Reviews on Italian food in Uvita, Province of Puntarenas, Costa Rica. A tiny village with two miles of pure white sand and fabulous conditions for swimming, Uvita might become your favorite place in Costa Rica. It's part of the Marino Ballena National Park (Whale Marine Park), named for humpback whales who meet and mate here every winter and spring. Take a boat ride to Caño Island, a nature reserve with incredible marine life.

I had a tradicional Costa Rican Casado but to my surprise the portions of rice and beans were the smallest I have ever had. I Complained with waitress about it.
We've been here before and actually recommend it to friends, but this trip this year, proved to be one of the not so great pizza's we've had in previous years. New chef? Different chef? The sauce was flavourless, crust was still thin, but also flavourless and and cheese, usually dripping off it, wasn't, and the toppings shy - we ordered a Hawaiian. The manager was raving about how much we'd enjoy the pineapple that day....not so...it was just all so forgettable, I'm afraid. Hope they figure it out...because this hasn't been our experience in the past.

The cuisine is inspired by Italian tradition, using only local ingredients with innovative results that surprise even the most demanding gourmand. Here in Dolce Uvita, the ingredients are carefully chosen and the dishes created with the right combinations
We happened to come across Annasilvia, the owner of Dolce Uvita, in a community Facebook group, and she mentioned that she and her husband have an Italian restaurant in Uvita. My husband and I were looking for a a place to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, so we decided to give it a try. Annasilvia encouraged us to select our entree in advance because they prepare everything from scratch. We were very grateful for the opportunity to peruse the menu at home. My husband ordered spaghetti with Italian sausage and broccoli, and I ordered Rigatoni Puttanesca. Prior to our main course, we were served bruschettas with three different delicious toppings on them. Then came our main dishes, and we were both delighted with our selections. . After the main course, in the Italian tradition, we were served delicious Caesar Salads. We were both very full from the main course, but I'm a big fan of Caesar Salad, and this one was one of the best I've ever had, so I managed to savor every bite of it. But it didn't end there! As a special treat for our anniversary, Annasilvia brought us chocolate cupcakes topped with rum sauce and fresh strawberries on the side.

Our place is small but quiet with nature around whit tables for groups or just cople person.. Its a rustic place but offering delicious food...
Took a taxi here from the hotel. Ask before we let the taxi go what time they closed in response we were told 10 okay great be paid the taxi and came in as it was only 9:15. We were then told that we could order food but had to take it to go because the kitchen closes at 10. We both looked at our watches and asked , we cant eat here its only 915. Granted they were a little busy but not that much as there were four empty tables that we could see two standing at the doorway. Very rude person that didn't care about the business. Perhaps a disgruntled employee hopefully not the manager or owner. I hope whoever reads this can do a little bit of Staff training. I can understand showing up 5 minutes till closing but not 45 minutes and turning customers away. Thanks for writing and say your opinion..we are going to work about it to give a better service..Thanks..

We both had the ravoli - one with ricotta and white sauce and one with bolognese - the bolognese one was fine and the ricotta one tasted of nothing whatsoever! The ravioli itself was a bit too al dente for my liking. The music was too loud and not very easy on my ears.Thank you very much for sharing your experience, sorry to read what happened, a thousand apologies, I assure you we will work on it, I hope you visit us again and give us the opportunity to earn the two remaining stars, if you would like to write to me [email protected] if It is not annoying and you will indicate the approximate day and time in which all this happened, since the ravioli are internationally known and our customers are always satisfied, but this type of comments help us to improve continuously, a thousand apologies again.

Read some very good reviews, so we decided to go here for lunch. Me and my wife have visited other (authentic) italian restaurants and this one was average at the most. Some of us ordered soft drinks and we noticed they were past their expiration date (not a big deal). We ordered various types of dishes (from pasta to seafood) and none of us (a big group) could give a high rating to any of the food.Overall, we think it was very expensive for the quality it offered. We 're sorry for drinks and it's not our fault, anyway after your review we checked all soft drinks in the fridge and no one was expired, something that you cannot say is that is not authentic Italian, we are Italian and all pastas and sauces are homemade, fish is always fresh as we buy every day driving 30 km to do that, expansive? Go around the area or even in a supermarket and check about imported food prices. Of course you can say you didn't like but about quality we do everything possible to have best products on the market.

Our passion for Neapolitan pizza made with only the best, ethically sourced ingredients. From Costa Rica, local Farmers and our own backyard. A passion for the city we live in and the places we eat. And a passion we're happy to share with you.
I have been here twice in the last month and both times the pizza was very good. I recommend the shrimp pizza! They have a good offer of special beers from local breweries too and both of the spice and citrus oils for on the pizza are very very tasty. We came in soaked wet after heavy rain on the motorcycle and the owner nicely offered us to use the dryer to get our clothes dry. ThanksThank you very much for such a great review! We work really hard to offer the best food in the best possible environment, so i am happy to see that reflected on your last visit. Our staff is always humbled by all the reviews! Thank you And hope to see you soon!
