it is always a pleasure to be at Cinquecento, the atmosphere is cosy, the italian specialities well prepared, but above all, the way you are received by the team makes you feel happy for the all day....try it, you will be satisfied and gratefull for your choice.

We offer you personal service, an atmospheric ambience and products of the best quality. With us you will enjoy freshly prepared delicacies ranging from wood-stove pizzas, various pasta products up to select Italian specialties.
The location next to the river offers nice atmosphere. The inclusive (salad, entree and dessert) made the meal very reasonably priced by Switzerland. We had the perch fillet, and it was excellent. The young waiter we had was very attentive, engaging and spoke excellent English.

Please take a seat and make yourselves comfortable either in the indoor restaurant or outside in our grill room overlooking the river Aare. The produce used by our chef is fresh from the market, of excellent quality and almost exclusively of Swiss origin.
This is a very popular place for dinner and reservations are required if you want to sit in the glass enclosed dining room over looking the river. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The pizza is some of the best I have had in Switzerland and there is only one other restaurant in Switzerland that has pizza as good. Located on the River amongst all the side walk Cafes. This is part of a Hotel in the Rathaus Building off the Old Town Square.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner sitting outside facing the river and the charming wooden bridge/dam. We ate early so we had the back pretty much all to ourselves. Our waiter was courteous and friendly and we enjoyed some wine and cheese. There were five different entrees that I wanted to try so the waiter had to help me pick what to order. I had the mushroom risotto with squash which was delicious. I don't like eating mushrooms but I love the intense flavor they give to sauces and risotto in particular and I usually pick them out. This risotto was so well done that I didn't even mind eating the mushrooms because they were soft and not chewy. My husband had the spaghetti Bolognese which he really enjoyed. I really wanted dessert but sadly I had no room left in my stomach! The food was a little pricey but everything in Switzerland is expensive.Dear SueMPAThank you very much for your visit at Waisenhaus Thun.We were really glad to welcomes you and we are thrilled that you were satisfied regarding the mushroom risotto and the spaghetti Bolognese which your husband had-thank you for your review. Betriebsferien vom 30.6.20.19 - Mitte September 2019 Familienbetrieb mit traditioneller italienischer Küche. Auserlesene Weine. Family-run restaurant featuring traditional Italian cuisine, homemade pasta and pizzas, meat and fish dishes.
Really loved the high quality fresh food in this trattoria. Having the owners on the restaurant floor really made us feel looked after. Great selection of pizzas, pastas and meat dishes. It's really good value too. Lovely ambience and surroundings and right in the middle of the old town.

We stayed at the Frienhof Hotel at the end of June & we're very pleased to discover this restaurant just across the road which made a brilliant alternative to hotel dining. The staff were not only very efficient & responsive but also amusing & charming. We ate here twice - the first time having delicious pizza made in the show kitchen pizza oven.On the second occasion my husband had a beef stroganoff which he thoroughly enjoyed whilst I had lamb.I asked for it to be cooked pink which it was, & it was extremely tender & succulent with a beautifully flavoured seasoning - possibly the best lamb dish that I've ever eaten! We also had indulgent puddings, very naughty.Would definitely eat here again.

We stopped by here on a lovely sunny summer's day so sitting by the beautiful crystal clear river was so relaxing. We had a tasty light lunch with coffee service was friendly and the owner of this Italian restaurant a really charming character!Looked nice and cosy inside and from the menu I could imagine enjoying a good pasta and bottle of red on another visit.

We had dinner there on a Saturday and we had a blast. We have spent many weekends in the Piedmont region and this place is definitely very authentic. They only have 1 menu, but of course you can change some courses if you prefer something else. Having only one menu means that everything is fresh which is exactly what we like. The owners are very nice and they take the time to check on their guests. We will definitely go back in the summer, they have a great outdoor area.

Italienisches Spezialitätenrestaurant
Last meal of our Switzerland road trip. What a disgusting shambles! My partner and I initially walked past Ristorante Beau Rivage da Domenico in search of somewhere a little different to eat (we have plenty of Italians back home) but our stomachs couldn't hold out any longer, so we decided to treat ourselves. We were guided through the main restaurant to the outside sitting area. Unfortunately the table we were seated at was situated between two large smoking groups, which was very unpleasant. After some time a table cloth was laid but cutlery was left in a pile. A basket of bread followed but this was literally thrown at us by the manager. It was a while before we saw anyone with any menus. When a waiter came to take our drinks order, we asked for wine but as no wine list had been provided, we couldn't be any more specific. The list was given to us but it was some time again before we were attended to. When the same waiter came back and we were placing our order, he was ushered away by his manager and his order pad snatched off him. He did eventually come back, but his attention was demanded by the table behind him, who he then went off to serve. We were left speechless! We have never experienced anything like this and it is the first time we have ever walked out of a restaurant. Thanks for the bread and water.
