You need to be more than lucky to find this cafe if you have not heard about it from somebody else. It is hidden at the first floor at Ãlikooli street 12 close to the central square. The cafe has a cosy and relaxing interior and a big screen showing National Geographic. Yes - I could have lived without advertisement for tampons while having my dinner, but if the screen is getting too disturbing, you can take seat in another room.Food was interesting and tasty. We had their hummus with 3 different testes. Excellent! The caesar salad was the best I have had in Tartu - the salad dressing was perfect. The risotto with mushrooms was also among the best in town - if not the best. The prices are very reasonable and great service.
Small and cozy restaurant in the heart of the beautiful district of Karlova. The menu offers several options for meat lovers as well as for vegetarians, while pasta lovers will be happily satisfied with Italian ravioli. Appetizers are a must and they are
Jakobi Jalats is located on Tähe street right next to its sister bar "Barlova". Together they make a good combination of a meet and greet hotspot in the heart of Karlova. The menu is healthy and has multiple good choices for vegetarians and for not-so-big meat lovers. If you want to have a perfect evening in Tartu, then food in Jakobi and after beer in Barlova will grant it.
Opera Pizza was founded in 1996 and is located on Vanemuise Street in Tartu. The delicious pizzas are handmade and cooked in a traditional oven with a brick floor. We have a special menu for kids and great offers. Welcome!
One of the best pizzas I've eat so far.The place has very cozy interior. It was in a darker style for a long time, not so long ago though they changed to be more bright, which appeared to be also nice. I regularly enjoy being there.

What Kalamaja is for Tallinn, Karlova is for Tartu. Barlova is a cool place for hanging out with friends and meeting people. It does not matter how expensive or fanchy the furniture is, what is really important is cozy atmosphere and friendly welcome. This place is mostly for drinks and I am sure that at night it must be super crowded. We went there at lunchtime hoping naively to get a meal. We had a slice of cake (they bring the cakes from a nearby bakery) and coffee. At Barlova they make bruschettas and offer snacks. Definitely a place to be when in Tartu!

Kolm Tilli is inspired by street food from all around the world, located in old Widget Factory in Tartu. The heart of the restaurant is open kitchen with authentic Italian pizza oven and sophisticated yet laid-back bar.
Visiting my son in Tartu who dances with the Vanemuine Ballet, we were invited to the birthday party of one of the dancers. They had just finished a performance and came in a large group to Kolm Tilli, a favourite of the birthday girl herself. Everyone had pre-ordered but the restaurant couldnât be sure of the exact time of arrival. The staff handled the drinks orders really fast and well and water was provided to the whole group. My own Tuna Pizza and my sonâs Chicken Pizza were really good and the general opinion around the group was mostly positive. I was impressed by the efficiency with which such a large group was served; capably and unobtrusively (but pleasantly) by the waitresses. Payment at the end was conducted in a slick and easy manner. This is not easy with diverse orders from a large group. I would add that the web site photos donât do justice to the real thing - especially the fish and chips! So well done Kolm Tilli, I donât think this is the last large party youâll cater for!

Vapiano used to be a place where you could get some decent food at a decent price. Now the prices are going up and the quality down.I ordered an asparagus salad. It was supposed to have green and white asparagus. The white ones were missing. The girl at the checkout said that she can't help me. She doesn't know anything about the salads. The salad was big and it had a lot of lettuce. The asparagus was minimal and the cured ham seem less than a slice. The pizzas were average with little taste, like if no herbs were added.Disappointed.Thank You for sharing Your experience with us â it is important to have Your opinion so we could be better on what we do. It is sad to hear that You did not enjoy the salad this time and also the staff wasn´t helpful. We want to offer the best food in companion with the best service. We will definitely learn from Your feedback address these issues with the team. Hope You do give us another chance and come to visit us whenever in Tartu again.

The best wine bar outside Tallinn:) We offer different kind of wines and fantastic antipasti. In every month we have wine tastings with best sommeliers and guests from different wineries.
Darted in here during a downpour and stayed to have two glasses of wine and a snack plate. Bartender recommended a nice German red wine, with plenty of body to it and a great leathery/tobaccoey aftertaste. Snack plate consisted of tasty cheese, hand cut salami, grilled artichoke, grilled peppers, and toasted bread. Friendly and welcoming place.

La Dolce Vita is an Italian restaurant which opened its doors in 2003. Its Italian owners serve up traditional dishes from their country. Its pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven which is unique in Tartu, and there is a wide range of pasta dishes to choos
Very good food. Chef is not willing to do any amendments in the receipt, so you have to choose another dish. Definately one of the best Italian places with real Italian cooking the food â¤ï¸ In the summertime also outside garden area is open with a very nice atmosphere :D Client Service is very nice and friendly - at least they were willing to go ask for amendments from the chef. Location is also good, in the Oldtown Interior design is likeyou have gotten into a true Italian trattoria - checkered tablecloths, different vases, pots and pans :D they also make exceptional Tom Collins
