This property is located along a main road (the one that connects Suvereto and Massa Marittima), but in a very isolated place, in the heart of the Natural Park of Montioni. So in a lonely position, which rather rarely occurs in Italy. In agreement with this context, the restaurant offers a simple, but tasty and genuine cuisine typical of the Maremma. The "tortelli" (a kind of ravioli, typical of Maremma region) are an unavoidable choice. The most obvious, the "ragu" ones, are simply sublime; but you can also choose those with mushrooms or with wild boar sauce, as some of us have done.As main course we ordered grilled meat, not very abundant, considering how many we were, but also excellent: guinea fowl, pigeon, pork ribs, sausage. Then some dessert (again, the cheese cake with caramel was sublime), water and a good local wine. The price was fair for six adults and two children (one of the two children ate very little): 200 â¬.Finally, one can not fail to mention what other travelers have yet noticed: the presence of a picturesque group of wild boars (adults and puppies), which, by now semi-domestic, wander in the restaurant car park, apparently waiting for food from the customers. When it's dark, also two semi-domestic foxes come from the woods in search of food. A singular experience, which will remains in the memory of visitors.

Nice place with kind people in a beautiful small towm called Suvereto. It's a pity that you can't eat real pizza. There is something very very tin with pizza shape and bad tomato. It is not pizza! There is another pizzeria in this town where the food is better and pizza very good. At the same time, the atmosphera is better in this place. They could reach an agreement ...

Al Rifugio is a restaurant in Prata di Suvereto, a wild area close by the hills and the sea of Baratti Populonia. Here you can take a sweet and pacefull rest with a sandwich or for lunch and dinner with aour special dish of pasta homemade, fish or meat.
This establishment is managed by Tony and his wonderful Mother. It gives a homely welcome and offers honest and delicious meals. We patronized for lunch on a wet afternoon and were extremely surprised by the lack of guests (which we feel itâs a real shame)Tony provided us with a detailed explanation of whatâs on offer for the day, provided some recommendations and we just went with the flow... Absolutely FantasticWe had a wonderful meal and shared lovely conversations with Tony and his Mother. The bill is extremely reasonable If you are near Suvereto, this is a must visit place for an authentic and fantastic home cooked meal

I must admit we came upon this place when we couldn't get into some others in the centre first. But I am so glad we did. The owner/manager was so helpful despite our lack of Italian. We had a variety of dishes none was disappointing.Home made pasta with genuine authentic Tuscan style, pappardelle with wild boar is a must!

Can I start with a wow???? Well, I have to because when I saw my appetizer my husband and I were tuned as in a choir with our wows ! The dish was composed of four rolled pieces of white fish stuffed with leeks, and topped with a thin slice of tartufo. It was served in a sauce as gold as a sunset made with saffron. The flavors where revealed in such a way that I was just in a cloud! My second dish was their homemade paste with shrimp, little cubes of potatoes in a white sauce. It was really delicious. My husband ordered their homemade raviolis with a white ragu sauce, very delicate. Now I am not too keen on the boar meat because it is always made too strong. However, here the boar was really delicate and I loved it. Then dessert... Well I guess you need to go there and experience it all! I love the atmosphere ! I also loved everyone that worked there! Really wonderful people! We complimented the chef and his wife for this wonderful sensorial experience!

The restaurant "Gualdo del Re" stems from a desire to enhance the taste of its own wines through an imaginative yet traditional Maremma quality cuisine.
This winery has a restaurant as well as accommodation. Been owned by the family since 1953, they have 25 hectares of vineyard. Make two white wines and a rose, a super Tuscan blend, straight Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The latter is the best of the lot. The wines are well priced, and tasting does not cost anything. Service was informative and pleasant. Bought a chilled bottle of Pinot Blanco to drink on the coast.Dear Roedig, thanks a lot for your visit and your comment on our production. I will try to come to visit you in South Africa! Many kind regards,Gloria

We went there for Dinner with some friends. The menu is only in Italian, but the service was very friendly, so we managed to order. The Bisteca Fiorentina was perfect (rare to medium), also the fish and the noodles with ragout. The Petra winery is very close, but they served delicious wine from a smaller local vinery.

We have dined at this amazing restaurant on multiple occasions and have never been disappointed. Marco is a brilliant chef, committed to providing his diners with the ultimate dining experience. He only serves fresh fish, prepared in healthy, creative presentations. This is truly our favorite restaurant in Tuscany.

We were a group of adults, kids and doggies and were accommodated with a smile. Lorenzo is a fantastic host and had tricks up his sleeve to make everyone happy from his delicious combination of burrato, poppone and tropea onions to special treats for crying kids. A tiny gem in one of the most picturesque piazze on the Tuscan Coast. Super Tuscan Experience!!! GRAZIE MILLE LORENZO!!!
