Massimoâs is at the top of our list of restaurants in Portsmouth, and thatâs saying something, given the many, many restaurants in the area.Massimo, the owner, is a gracious host and his staff is well prepared to offer assistance and advice. The menu offers an impressive range of dishes and changes regularly enough to avoid becoming stale. Every dish that we have tried over five or six visits has been exceptional.
Our second visit. Didn't like the first visit when we had lasagna so we tried again for the pizza and meatball sandwich. Nothing special. Sandwich not much better than a Subway meatball sandwich and pizza not wood oven cooked with thick crust and "blended" cheese. Also expensive (a 10 inch Margherita should not cost $13. May not visit again even though we had a house across the street. Pleasant staff, though. Sorry.

Had takeaway pizzas. They were all excellent and i especially liked the Hawaiin and the novelty of having a take-away calzone (some kind of chicken filling) which i had never seen before. Apparantly cooked Greek style and very tasty with plenty of topping and a thin base.Would definately have a selection of from here again.
Second visit here for the wine and a small but very fresh menu created by a young and talented chef. The bar is a magnet for locals and the service is warm and friendly. Options for half glasses of wine mean you can try many different types. A great addition to the seacoast foodie scene just steps from the Squamscott River in the heart of downtown Exeter.

Weâve been coming here since they first opened at their old location. Love the food and service. Wouldnât change a thing about that. Only problem is the ventilation system (itâs why I give 4 stars not 5). The air blasts down on customers which starts off freezing in the winter not to mention blows on your food and dries out your eyes. It sounds really strange but when you have to put a coat on to eat because of gale force winds, it kind of ruins the experience.

My family and I have ordered take-out 4-5 times from here. Interior ambiance is spartan but we have never eaten inside. The counter staff is generally pretty friendly, although recently we dealt with a female behind the counter that was less than ideal in her desire to crack a smile or put any effort into our presence in the establishment. The menu is decently populated with the standard fare of italian/pizza choices.

Stopped in for dinner while in Exeter for 3 days. Will be moving here shortly, and are sampling some of the local favorites. Enjoyed a veggie pizza that was really very good. Tasty crust, lots of fresh veggies that were sliced thin for greater flavor, and tried some of the local draught beer. Loved our first trip here, and when we move, we will sure to return to try more menu items. Thanks for stopping in! We truly appreciate the fantastic review, and look forward to seeing you more often once you move!

After a long day of travel, we were looking for some good food at inexpensive prices. This place was just down the street from the Fairfield Inn. They have good pizzas and calzones, along with a variety of pasta dishes, subs, and sandwiches. We had the traditional calzone and a small pepperoni & sausage pizza. Plenty of food for the three of us. $32 with soft drinks.
