Amerigoâs Grille opened its doors in 1989, quickly becoming the premier destination for fine dining and culinary entertainment in The Woodlands. The primarily Italian fare has evolved in exciting & innovative ways at the hands of Chef Arturo Osorio, who e
Went here with clients on a Tuesday night. Amerigo's has been regarded as one of the best Italian restaurants in The Woodlands for sometime. As someone who has lived in Italy and knows a fair bit about Italian cuisine, Amerigo's really isn't not all that. The restaurant is located right on Grogan's Mill Road and is a standalone building tucked slightly off the street. The restaurant itself is large with a bar and ample sized dining room on the main floor and private rooms upstairs. I would have preferred to stay by Market St or Hughes Landing where the overall ambiance is better.Appetizers were fine. One of the plates we shared was the burrata which others felt was more like a mozzarella di bufala and not burrata (I agreed). As an entree, I had the fish special - mahi that was prepared in egg batter - it was flavorful but very dense. Dessert was good - we shared 3 among the table (including the bread pudding and flourless chocolate cake) and all were tasty. I'm told that they have a pastry chef who prepares all the desserts in house. Our server was very attentive and definitely earned his tip. Wine selections are ample but overpriced...very few value selections on their wine list nowadays. All in all, not a bad experience but I wouldn't come back here on my own.

Excellent Pizza at an affordable price! Family friendly atmosphere and the people are friendly! My family and I are new to the neighborhood stopped in after previously passing it up to buy pizza from the "normal" pizza chains! Boy did we underestimate this place! pizza is awesome and the zesty Italian seasoning added to the crust just blew me away! I don't care to ever eat the "other guys" pizza ever!!!

Not only did we enjoy the exceptional customer service and warm welcome from the Manager, we had a delicious Italian lunch. We're so happy we made the decision to eat here before shopping at Sprouts. We had just returned from Italy (the week before) so you can only imagine how excited we were to discover how good the food was - can't wait to return to try their pizza. BTW, their pasta noodles were as good as the ones we made during a cooking class in Tuscany. Now, if they have red wine to match - they have a customer for life:)

We visited this pleasant establishment since our favorite was closed on Monday. We started with spinach and artichoke dip with triangle crackers. They were suppose to be toast with parmesan but was just soft crackers. The dip was good but we had to pouroff a shot glass of olive oil (too oily). I had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and my partner had chicken Leonardo. Both were good dishes but not the best I've ever had. Mine was creamy but had a strange aftertaste to it. Not sure what it is. The kids had pepperoni pizzas wbich were good. The garlic rolls were good and the blue cheese dressing was great. Al in all it was good and we would come back. Please, bring a big spoon to the table. This is how it's done in little Italy. This is a must with pasta. It's great to know that we've earned another visit -- thanks so much for dining with us! We're all about serving up rich, authentic Italian dishes, and we appreciate your feedback on our spinach and artichoke dip. We're glad you enjoyed everything overall, and we're confident your next experience will be even better. That said, we hope to see you again soon.Best,Team at Italian Cafe

We often come here for eat in or take out. My husband loves pizza and has eaten it across the US. He said this is hands down the best. The menu does not have a lot of variety but focuses on what it does well... pizza.

My girlfriend and I stopped in the Grotto after seeing a movie. We sat at the bar, where Taylor was our server. After a brief conversations about specials, wine, and drinks we purchase a bottle of Pessimist wine. Very good selection by Taylor. We order a beef fajita pizza, which is NOT on the menu. The manager actually made it. It's a pizza with beef fajita meat, fresh pico and avacado. Very good pizza! You will not be disappointed.

The Short version. Joe and I (Maria) moved to Houston in February of 2012. After a long weekend visit which we spent in The Woodlands in January of 2012, we decided to make a move, very spur of the moment. After returning from our visit, it only took a fe
We had a group of six and sat outside. We all had the special which was the gargonzola crusted ribeye. It was very good!Pros: Our waiter was great, the steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. The steaks were thick and juicy. Asparagus was also very good.It was a cool evening so the weather was perfect (that wonât last!). Cons: Price - the bill for food and a couple of drinks each was over $300. Other than that none. All in all a great dining experience!
