Reviews on Italian food in Sounio, Attica, Greece. Sunset is the best time to arrive at the 5th-century-B.C. Temple of the mythical sea God Poseidon. Perched on cliffs above Cape Sounio, the temple ruins, surrounded on three sides by sea, have stunning views out over the Aegean. It was mentioned in Homer's epic poem, The Odyssey. More recently, English Romantic poet Lord Byron visited this atmospheric spot in 1811 and inscribed his name at the base of one of the temple's Doric columns.

We decided to have some Italian food after a few days of having plenty of traditional Greek food. L'Amico seems to have been a good choice. The place is very nice and welcoming, with a great view. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs; they were also helpful in explaining the dishes and making suggestions. The food was very good, full of flavour, and in fairly big portions; we had around the table a mixture of pizzas, pastas, and other main courses. Everyone at the table was very happy with their choices.Overall, a great dinner and a good choice. I would definitely not mind returning to this place :)Dear Ariana, Thank you for taking the time taken to share your positive review on TripAdvisor! We are delighted to read that you enjoyed our restaurant and service. We will pass you compliments to the team. We hope to welcome you again at Lâamico in the near future.
As we all know the best view is from the backstage. We invite you each and everyone to enjoy your meal in a beatyspot, where you could take pleasure in tasting our Greek and Italian cuisine.
Fantastic atmosphere, whether it's for a leisurely coffee, lunch, or evening meal, extensive range of teas and coffees, tasty freshly made food, the pizzas are out of this world with the lightest crispiest crust you could imagine! You can enjoy your drink or meal right by the sea, and watch the local wildlife on the rocks! The staff are very friendly and speak English and Greek. A place you mustn't miss!!

Very nicely located with a beautiful sea view & amazing sunsets. The food is delicious! Big portions, fresh cooked, quick service & good priced on top of all.Today I received 2 Greece postcards as gift when leaving the restaurant... the people working there are very kind.Going back soon
I had an after dinner dessert at this place three times during my vacation in Lavrio. I had the nutella waffle (serves two people), the fancier waffalaki (less waffle but you can put nutella and ice cream) and the gelato. Everything was excellent. Really a great place to eat. And it is very busy.

Pizza Centro is a family restaurant in the center of the town. In a cozy atmosphere we serve home made pizza, pasta, calzone and more.
I had dinner in this pizzeria to have a break from greek food and it was a nice experience. We ordered two pizzas but we should have started by sharing one (we were two) and then think possibly order another one. It is obviously not the traditional Italian pizza but it is very good.

We were at the Lavrion Marina to pick up our boat and took a cab to this establishment. It was crowded. The food was fairly tasty, but not as exquisite as the price.
We loved this restaurant and were very surprised it hasn't got it's own name to make it stand out a little from the Hotel. It is part of the Aegeon Beach Hotel and caters predominantly for the hotel guests, but if staying in the Sounion region I would definitely make a trip here for a meal in the future. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the meals are to a very high standard. Whilst predominantly Greek there are some nice pasta dishes as well, and it is a very nice point of difference from the traditional taverna fare in the area.We ate here on numerous occassions and found all meals tasty and fresh each time. It is more expensive than the taverna's in the area, probably around 20% more, but that isn't a reason not to eat here unless you are on a very tight budget. Each meal was well worth the money in size and taste, and eating on the verandah you have the best view at sunset of both the Temple to the left and the beach straight ahead.I would highly recommend this restaurant, and if management wanted to cater more for passing trade (maybe they don't) they could probably give it a name to make it stand out more. 'The Cape Restaurant' or something similar would be a good name!
