Tried this Pizza spot in Schlieren today for a business lunch with my team. Waiters are very friendly and efficient, but mostly the pizza was DELICIOUS. I'm Italian so I'm not that easy when it comes to Pizza :) Prices are also very affordable and the atmosphere is very cosy and nice. Insider Tip: Pizza Monte Carlo!

As asparagus is in season, I had to try their white asparagus with hollandaise starter, only to be bitterly disappointed that the hollandaise was the bottled, horrible mayonnaisey type. Ew. The veal schnitzel however, was delicious with loads of lovely lemony sauce and fresh crispy fries. My family members had cordon bleu which they also raved about and the pizzas and calzone looked huge and smelled amazing. The service was timeous and friendly and the atmosphere is part bar, part fine dining with white table clothes, etc. Certainly a good restaurant.

The food was good, the reservation was smooth, but in general we were very underwhelmed and are puzzled by the fantastically high rating on tripadvisor, which is why we wanted to share a review. This is a restaurant that we would have found by the dozens in London or Singapore where we used to live. The food was fresh and it was very tasty, but the menu was very limited and we could actually not find anything we liked (Vitello Tonnato as the only meat option when there are at least 2 overpriced ravioli dishes, for example; and for fish only the raw tartar...all of this is way too taste-specific and there was non dish that would suit a more general palate. The menu changes every month, and it had changed on that particular day with the menu not available on the website...we actually saw other parties sit down and ask about items on the menu and leave again, but we decided to stay). Desert was also overpriced and not that great. We had a table outside, which was on the sidewalk with many people walking by very close to us (and given it is adjacent to Langstrasse, these people were sometimes not very pleasant or asking us for money). In general, this is a very expensive option for a night out, food is good, but we were looking for an anniversary dinner/special experience, which is clearly was not.Dear chooun14Thank you so much for your review. We apologize for the inconvenience regarding not timely updating of our menu on our webpage. Unfortunately there was a technical error with our server. However itâs true that our menu is limited, but it changes completely every month and this is how our concept works. We serve seasonal dishes and for August we offer a light but a thoughtful menu. Additionally itâs important to tell you, that we work with vegetables and fruits from our own garden. In conclusion we want to mention, that in this district of the city different people roam around and we unfortunately donât have any influence on it.Thank you so much for coming and we hope that you visit us again, maybe in the winter months with dishes that you may prefer more.Kind RegardsJohnny
A nicely decorated restaurant with friendly Portuguese staff. Food is amazing, and pizzas are some of the best Iâve had. Inexpensive for Swiss prices, parking is also easily available on site. Other specialities, like the Spanish seafood Paella, are available upon request and reservation. Highly recommendable.

I was here for a business convention. The appetizers were a buffet style with an array of calamari (pretty good), sausages (way too salty), French fries (too yellow than normal), Rossi sticks and supposedly minestrone soup which in fact is just vegetables with a watered-down tomato taste. The lobster pasta I ordered came and I was horrified to see the state in which it was served. Itâs not lobster. Just a third from a halved crayfish with 2 miserable prawns. The table wine is way too light and has an acidic after taste. The total experience is horrible. Itâs such a disappointment.

SummaryWe can only recommend the place! Authentic Italian food, on the pricier side though, in a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere. An unexpected experience in Zurich. Fresh products were prepared deliciously. The only improvement possible: the squid salad was a tiny bit too cold when served.Restaurant products⢠There is parking space available⢠The website is updated⢠Oil or butter was offered as well as âgreeting from the kitchenâ⢠We ordered: mineral water with gas, two salads, a squid salad, vitello tonnato, cappelletti âAngelaâ and tortelli al burro e sugo. For desert we choose panna cotta with strawberries and Semifreddo al Torrone along with two cups of espresso.Restaurant Facilities⢠Comfortable chairs. Tasteful paintings. No plants or fresh floral displays⢠Secure coat check is not available⢠Staff uniforms are appropriate and free from any sign of wear or dirt⢠Flatware was not tarnished⢠Restaurant lighting is comfortable, enabling menu reading, but privacy and ambiance maintained⢠No background music⢠The dining room temperature is comfortable and unnoticed by guests⢠Dining room exhibits an organized appearance; tables are uniformly setRestaurant Service⢠We were greeted personally by charming owner Angela when we entered the restaurant and bidden good-bye when we left as well.⢠Staff is friendly, very professional and approaches guests upon arrival and whenever needed without any delay⢠The payment process was efficient and swift

Mediterranean Cuisine with great meat, fish and one of the best tiramisus you have ever eaten. We serve great South European wine and have a funny sarcastic staff. We hope you enjoy your time with us.
I was introduced to the Grotto Reale by a business friend some 2 years ago.Since then I am back rather often. I think value/quality is a perfect match. Price level most definitely on the low side. Food, particular meat is impeccable and done at customers request at its best. Starters: shrimps in garlic butter or sepia simply delicious. The owner and the waiter Santiago charming, smiling people.Only Spanish wines but most of them at the upper end re quality price wise very decent. Generous pouring of digestives. One of best best plus: open daily but also on Sundays.
