Italian restaurant in the Botánico, Puerto de la Cruz. Come and enjoy our pizzas and fresh pasta in a cosy place.
We visited on a Monday evening at about 9, the place was still busy compared to other restaurants in the area. We weren't acknowledged by staff so seated ourselves, waiter brought menus quickly and left enough time for us to consider the menu before returning. We shared bruscetta, ordered two of the hand made pastas and a half litre of local wine. All was very tasty, portions large so even with the shared starter (4 pieces) we didn't clear our plates. All served very quickly, the main course arrived before we'd finished the starter. We were out again in 45 minutes. No-one asked if the food was ok or if we wanted dessert or digestifs. All a little mechanical from the service perspective, no feeling of connection with the customer. Bizarrely the entire restaurant floor slopes quite significantly downhill which was a bit disconcerting. We were left feeling full yet strangely empty. Were considering this restaurant for our wedding anniversary meal but it's lacking atmosphere despite appearances.

Pequeña pizzerÃa artesanal italiana. Elaboraciones caseras. Materia prima de importación italiana de primera calidad
Small but perfectly formed authentic Italian restaurant. Ok so it's on the main road with no parking but you can a spot within 5 minutes walk and they do their best to disguise the main road once you are inside. The restaurant seats 29 people and has a nice atmosphere even with on,y a few tables being used. They do have a few availability issues it would seem but if you like pizza please come. There are lots of choices and the ability to add or create your own essentially. They are cooked to perfection, light crispy and bubbly with fresh toppings and a the lady owner is very nice. The poor chef is at the hot end of the establishment but he seems happy enough! There is a short list of desserts and we shared the pans cotta which was good and plenty enough to share. We left very full and looking forward to lying down. The price was very good.Thank you!

Visited with partner and mother whilst on holiday. Ordered the calzone which was cooked to perfection. Partner had the all day breakfast which he said was really tasty. The restaurant is located on the sea front so the prices are fantastic given the location. Service was a bit hit and miss with some staff been more attentive than others and it was because of this that they loose a point and only get 4 out 5

This restaurant has italian type cuisine, pizzas, pasta etc. but also meat and fish dishes. We both chose the seared tuna dish - lovely fresh fish, beautifully presented, but it was served in small slices, seared on the outside with a herb crumb, but basically raw in the centre. As it was fresh, it was very nice, if not very warm (!) but in future, we'd ask for it to be cooked a little more. (We weren't asked how we like it cooked). Two tables of locals were there when we ate, always a good sign.

One of my friends recommended Restaurant Vicolo, and I'm so glad they did! The restaurant is located on Calle la Hoya almost directly opposite the Beehive British Football Pub but please don't be put off by this. The pub is very well managed and attracts no excessive noise, drunkenness or anti social behaviour! I can vouch for this because over the years I've been there many times. Unusually, it was a chilly evening and I was suffering a sore throat as I made my way to the restaurant. Although there were many people eating outside in Vicolo's seated dining terrace, I went inside because of my sore throat and the cold I was feeling. Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised because the restaurant was of contemporary design, very modern and stylish and was in fact quite chic and upmarket. It was also spacious and spotlessly clean with seating for 24 persons inside and the same outside. Much bigger than I'd imagined.I particularly liked the smoky grey, slate-like floor tiles which did look very classy adding that touch of ambience to the restaurant. The subdued almost seductive lighting also enhanced the interior design creating a lovely warm atmosphere which within minutes saw me taking off my coat!A young waiter who spoke excellent English came to my table to take my order so I asked if I could have some fish soup which may have eased my sore throat. But sadly there wasn't any. Instead, I asked for an Americano coffee con leche (with milk) whilst I perused the menu. The waiter soon returned with my coffee served generously in a long glass. From the menu I ordered Spaghetti Marinara a wonderful looking pasta dish containing cooked mussels, shrimps, clams, prawns, cherry tomatoes and parsley. Sounded great!I began sipping my coffee which was really good. In fact it was excellent! By far the best coffee I'd tasted during the three weeks I'd been in Puerto de la Cruz!Although the waiter was constantly taking plates of food to diners eating outside, he still found time to have a chat to me which I found comforting. I then ordered a bottle of water to drink with my meal.It didn't seem long before my pasta dish was being placed in front of me. It looked and smelled absolutely amazing and tasted superb! Everything was piping hot and cooked to perfection. I savoured every mouthful! The different ingredients of fish were blended together so well with the pasta. I enjoyed the meal very much! After my meal, I ordered another coffee and before leaving the restaurant I complimented the chef who'd come to ask if I'd enjoyed his dish.As I left the restaurant and headed out into the coolness of the night, I felt warm. I felt full. I felt good ⦠very good! Another great dining experience! And the bill? 14 Euros! Exceptional value. So how would I sum up Restaurant Vicolo? A lovely, well managed modern restaurant creating a great atmosphere as well as great food. With friendly attentive staff, you'll always be guaranteed a warm welcome here. Highly recommended! Happy dining! Lee A.

Must have walked past this restaurant hundreds of times and didn't give it a second thought. My wife and I both enjoy pasta though and checked out TripAdvisor which highlighted Baricentro.Sometimes you read comments like ' this was some of the best pasta I've ever eaten' and you think, some correspondents 'need to get out more', however, on this occasion they could very well be right!Spotlessly clean, well appointed with interesting Italian artefacts and friendly staff,, so far we were impressed. Two glasses of the very good house rosado helped set the scene whilst we perused and ordered from the well chosen selection of dishes on the menu.Sharing a starter of bruschetta, it was at this point we agreed we had made a good restaurant choice. The bread was lightly toasted and the garlicky tomato topping was seasoned perfectly and drizzled with a nice 'peppery' olive oil - absolutely delicious. Next we both had spaghetti dishes, my wife the pesto and the 'scampi' for me. Both dishes were cooked to absolute perfection, with al dente spaghetti and for my dish, well cooked and succulent prawns in a garlic and chillie oil - historic. To complement the food we selected a bottle of verdicchio, which I must say was reasonably priced and of good quality.Although both of us were 'stuffed full' at this point, we reasoned that since the first two courses were superb, for completeness, we simply had to try the tiramisu.Quite honestly, this was 'up there' with best tiramisu either of us had ever eaten - and being from Scotland we both enjoy our puddings. So there you have it, Baricentro, what a find. So good we went back another twice during our two weeks in Puerto. Thanks for some great meals.

We had our new years dinner there and the service and quality of food was very good. I had the filet with mushrooms and enjoyed it a lot. My wife had the fish lasagna and felt it was the best she had so far.For desert we chose pana cotta and it was delicious, the traditional coffee barraquito is served in a fancy cocktail glass :-)
