Sant Joan d'Alacant (Valencian pronunciation: [saɲ dʒuˈan dalaˈkant]) is a municipality belonging to Alicante metropolitan area, in the southeast of Valencian Community, Spain. It is the geographic center of the Old Garden of Alicante. Its limits are with the settled areas of Alicante (7 km), Mutxamel (1 km) and El Campello (3 km). It is within the Alicante metropolitan area and shares the same fire department and metro services. Its population growth is due to its function as a bedroom community, as well as in recent years, its isolation from tourist areas, its cultural and academic activities, and because has part of the campus of the University Miguel Hernández of Elx/Elche. It comprises two zones: the town of Sant Joan and Benimagrell, which is now joined through its urban expansion.

We ate here last evening and we would like to commend the staff and the food. Although the restaurant is small, the taste of the food isnât. The portions are a good size and the quality is good. We had two main courses and a bottle of wine and our bill only came to â¬33. If you are in the area give it a try, you wonât be disappointed.

Visited for dinner with a colleague and had a lovely meal. Only 4 tables and a small, freshly cooked menu. Food is high quality and authentic Italian. I had the gnocchi wth meatball sauce while my colleague had the vegetable tagliatelle. Portions were small but that suited me - I was comfortably full after 2 courses. We were also offered complimentary amuse bouche between courses. Wine is reasonably priced. I would definitely come back.

Itâs a cosy and warm little restaurant run by a very friendly couple! The menu is not too big and everything is very nice. The red parmigiana and the bolognese panzerotti are just delicious!! Strongly recommend if you want change from the classic Spanish tapas.

If you're put off by the number of reviews don't be. This Italian bistro has only recently opened. It's in the middle of a new housing development about 5-10 mins walk from the beach but it's quiet because half the property hasn't been occupied yet. The food was a notch above your typical Italian - there's some talent in the kitchen. The pizza was delicious as was the pasta, combining flavours that were out of the ordinary but which worked beautifully. I asked for a beer and was served a dark craft lager - lovely. Going to try and buy some. It's tastefully decorated, clean and homely. If you're in the area give it a try - you won't be disappointed. Muchas gracias por tan detallada opinión! Excellent neighborhood type Italian place, lucky neighborhood!!Friendly welcome, great service even during a busy lunchtime when complexity full. Calamari and capresse salad to start, the salad served with fresh anchovy and olive which worked really well. Seafood pasta and a decent house white all around. Most of the italian food placesin this zone are pretty much the same and seem more tourist or spanish adaptation than true italian food. This restaurant is not like that. This venture is always pack and we have to await one day to be able to place a reservation for dinner. The place is Brand New, had open less than a year ago and looks that the public has it approved.Finally, after wait for one day we could get there and have our pizzas.The service was OK and the pizzas frankly a deception. It was just OK. May their success be the location? I donât know. But if I could be trusted as a foodie, the Pizzas are my specialty, and their pizza is nothing but a standard pizza. So, I did not understand why such popularity.Besides, is the first time that I saw serve an âAffogatoâ as a kit to do it yourselfâ¦.. The ice cream in a vase, and the espresso in anotherâ¦â¦ Really?Is not a bad place to go for a meal but really I could not recommend it, by the fact of having too many other places (that donât offer Pizza) a lot better within a block far from them.Dear Thanks a lot for your feedback. Had a great meal here last year, so had to go back. Once again we had a delicious meal and the service was excellent. My wife felt unwell, so couldn't eat much of her excellent lasagne, so they packed it for us to take away and enjoy later, which we did.We expect to be returning to Campello and will definitely be eating at La Vela again.Thank you very much.
