Reviews on Italian food in Sandown, England, United Kingdom. Sandown is a seaside resort town and civil parish on the southeast coast of the Isle of Wight, England, which neighbours the town of Shanklin to the south, with the village of Lake in between the two settlements. Sandown Bay is the name of the bay off the English Channel which both towns share, and it is notable for its long stretch of easily accessible golden sandy beach. It is the site of the lost Sandown Castle. Whilst undergoing construction, this was attacked by a French force which had fought its way over Culver Down from Whitecliff Bay, resulting in the French being repulsed. It was built too far into the sea and constantly suffered erosion, until now reduced to a pile of rocks. Later forts in the town include the Diamond Fort (named after its plan), built inshore to replace the castle and which fought off a minor attack from privateers (probably French) in 1788, and the present "Granite Fort" at Yaverland, which is now the zoo. Together with Shanklin, Sandown forms a built up area of 21,374 inhabitants.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Food is wonderful and reasonably priced. We stayed in Shanklin for a week and were so impressed that we ate at Pavarottiâs 3 times. Youâll need to book, itâs usually busy, but we simply decided on the day and phoned to book during the afternoon. Eat downstairs for the best atmosphere.

Best pizza I had in years. Small restaurant but very friendly and clean with an excellent service and really authentic and delicious pizza with fresh ingredients. Price very reasonable. We went there twice with our 10 years old and we loved it. I can only highly recommend it.

Was recommended to eat here by our B&B owner who also told us to make sure we booked as it is small and usually very busy. Real old fashioned charming village pub with an italian menu comprising pizza and pasta and much more. Went for the "life changing" lasagne which was very nice and the wife had the sea bass which was served on a bed of tagiatelle also very good. Service is good and friendly staff made it a nice atmosphere for a pleasant evening.
