I could not ask for a more spectacular setting to enjoy the view of the harbor ad day turned to night. Lovely selection of cocktails. Dinner down stairs in the dining area was also lovely. Everyone at my table ordered pizza. It was good, not great. But such a welcome change from eating local food for so many travel days. We ate leisurely and enjoyed the experience.

After 2 weeks in Borneo, we visited d'Northstar bistro in Sandakan. Besides some local dishes they pffered western food like a good tenderloin and a great pizza (hand made-thin crust). Furthermore they offered an extensive wine list with all sorts of good wines on it. Our children & ourselves loved it! The service was great, the food was great: after enjoying the local dishes for a while, it certainly is nice to have a western plate before you switch to local again.After dinner, the staff started a (new) movie on a big screen outside, so we stayed for a couple of wines while our children enjoyed the movie.An big plus!
