Had dinner here last night. We all sat outside which was really nice a lovely courtyard. You can eat inside as well. They have a great Italian menu, with a number of evening specials. They realldo make the best pasta dishes. They have a great wine list to zele t from. Katia and her team know how to look after you. Plenty of parking outside.

Came by for dinner with a small group after a tour of Badia di Passignano. The chef put together a five course menu that was prepared beautifully---in addition, it was not too filling--it was ideal. My personal favorites were the Pasta stuffed with duck, the Burrata Cheese Fondant and the Wild Boar Loin--all were extraordinary. The chef came out and spoke about the dishes---it was a great evening.

La Torreâs menus are inspired by Tuscanyâs bountiful seasonal ingredients. The maxim of Executive Chef Di Pirro is, âif you want quality then you must follow natureâ. Spring brings crisp green beans, zucchini and fragrant herbs. Summer, the Tuscan ports r
We had the seafood tasting menu here. Every beautifully presented course tasted succulent. We drank an outstanding local wine: Castella della Salla Cervaro, Antinori. The service left nothing to be desired, either. We could hardly believe they served a "pre-dessert," followed by dessert, then macaroons ... but wait ... there's .... more?! Yup. A round of house-made chocolates. Whew, were done. Nope! The final, final round of dessert was the little treasure chest of miniature pastries. When was the last time you had a five-course dessert?! I forgot to mention how gorgeous the decor was--elegant, country Italian (though leaning hard toward Frenchy). It was as perfect an evening as any connoisseur diner could dream up. We'd return--but we'd be sure to budget our stomachs for the elaborate desserts! (NOTE: There was a vegetarian option for the prix fixe menu. :D This restaurant also provided one of the more outstanding breakfast buffets I've had in Europe. )Good afternoon from La Torre at Castello del Nero Litr8r86,thank you very much for your kind review, we are so pleased to read such a nice comment which reinforce our dedication to quality delivering, attention to details, to customer happyness and satisfaction. We look forward to welcoming you again and again soon to our restaurant.Best regards from Sunny Chianti.Fabio DatteroniManaging Director & General Managerand all the Team Members

Rustic elegant derived from the old mill of the farm Rignana, which was the home of Bishop Scipio Ricci Outside Of the large terrace that overlooks one of the most beautiful Chianti The wine cellar is managed by the family of Rignana Abbarchini since 1983
If you want to experience true Tuscany then La Cantinette Di Rignana is your place. The views are absolutely spectacular overlooking the rolling hills of Tuscany. En route to the restaurant is also very exciting, driving on dirt roads, passing small villages, and ultimately arriving at an area that brings you back in time. The food was very good and the reason why I did not give a 5 star rating is because the truffle dish lacked truffles compared to other restaurants and they did not have fresh gelato for desert (personal perference). Other than that, you can't go wrong!

It's not your usual Butcher shop, it's much more indeed. You are definitely in for an unexpected treat when you visit the Macelleria Francini, and a very pleasant one. Yes, the name says "Butcher Shop" but inside is a quaint restaurant with amazing fresh food - the carpaccio and tartare were favorites of locals. We enjoyed cuts and wine and a fine time. ...

We spent six nights in San Donato and returned to di Ciccino for pizza three nights. The proprietor/cook and his wife who was waitresses were delightful, friendly, helpful and so welcoming. It is a very busy restaurant so you need a reservation most evenings. Each pizza is individually made and cooked separately to order so sometimes it seems like you are waiting but it is so worth it. The clientele is both local and tourists and the atmosphere is great, you eat outside (weather permitting) in the center of the old city. Prices are reasonable and you have salads and antipasto on the menu in addition to pizza calzones and dolce. A fun place to eat and the pizza is absolutely delicious with a thin, crispy crust and lots of topping.Yumâ£ï¸

Came here as 7 adults and 4 children and couldn't be happier with the place. All the food was lovely and they even accounted for the kids needs. It was our first meal out and it was so enjoyable. One of the more enjoyable restaurants. I recommend the fiorentina steak for two.

Antica Trattoria La Toppa is a lovely Typical Restaurant in the heart of Chianti, in the centre of the Ancient Village of San Donato in Poggio, close to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and Barberino Val dâElsa. At only 20 minutes from Florence and 30 from Siena, a
We chose this Trattoria the first and second night in San Donato as it had great Trip Advisor and Michelin recommendations and seemed to be the only place other than 2 bars and a pizza restaurant to eat. My homemade pappardelle pasta with mushrooms had little or no taste and I was disappointed BUT IT WAS PROBABLY my own fault because the delightful waitress Veronica suggested that I maybe needed a heavier sauce and I wrongly assumed that it did have a mushroom sauce because it said pasta with mushrooms. There was no sauce. My partner had Tuscan sausage both nights and he thought it was delicious. Night two I had Spicy Tomato Pici which came so al dente the pasta almost could not be chewed and there were a couple of tomatoes in the sauce but it was not spicy. I only consumed less than half of the serving. My large mixed salad was excellent. On the first night our dining companions had veal and thought it was OK. The second night they had the wild boar stew and it was excellent and a great choice for a meal.THE PROBLEM CAME when a waiter suggested we pay cash instead of by credit card and we would be given a DISCOUNT. Then the owner came over to talk to us in Italian which we do not understand passed basic, he was friendly and we were joking between us and he seemed to be offering us a âcomplementaryâ tiramisu for dessert which all four of us shared. (Delicious, by the way.) it was then time for the check and the waiter who âOFFERED THE DISCOUNT FOR CASHâ was not around, the proprietor came back with the bill at which time he added â¬5 to the already totaled bill which had no discount. And at that time he did not want to take a credit card but insisted on cash so we gave him â¬100 to pay the â¬93. Then he was going to pocket the â¬7 and we had to keep saying âWhere is our change?âThe atmosphere was wonderful, the waitress we had the first night was fantastic but WE FEEL WE WERE REALLY RIPPED OFF because the waiter who told us we would get a discount for cash was the owners son. We will not be going back. And both nights my pasta was really, really disappointing. If you canât get exceptional pasta dishes in Italy, where do you go?mi dispiace per l' equivoco,ci siamo fraintesi, non capendo l'italiano. il dolce non era offerto avendolo chiesto voiComunque se ha scelto di tornare la seconda sera (in cento metri ci sono altri 2 ristoranti) è segno che è stato bene "we don't ripped off anybody"

We stayed one night in the area and chose to go to this spectacular place and we are so glad that we did! The service was absolutely tremendous and the pasta was one of the best I have ever tasted. Fantastic local wine and cannot wait to return! We wish we were staying longer so we could go again. Highly recommended for excellent food, wine and service!
