We visited this restaurant that has recently opened in Rayleigh High Street. They were buzzing and virtually fully booked but managed to get us a table on the day.Lunch time was also busy. Nice menu with 2 courses for £13.95 and 3 courses for about £18.95.I opted for the garlic bread with caramelised onion, delicious and the size of a small pizza ! My partner chose from the Main menu and had prawns that he said were lovely. He chose the fillet steak that was cooked to perfection. My chicken salad with pesto dressing was also very good. The staff were friendly. We did wait a while to get a first drink but they were very busy. It is quite noisy but a good atmosphere. There are tables upstairs also but I didnât get to see them. I would recommend this restaurant and wish them good luck.

Tiny and cosy unpretentious and perfect little Italian serving delicious food. If we lived locally (which sadly we don't) we would be regulars. A real pleasure to have gone, and the next time we are in Southend we will be there again. No wonder the reviews are so good.

Place was very busy but the waitress, without fuss, found us a relatively quiet table when my husband explained that I have problems with excessive noise. Our waiter was very attentive and service was pretty good on such a busy evening.I had my favourite - Sloppy Giuseppe - which was full of flavour but, on this occasion, was more Sloppy than Giuseppe as if the centre of the base wasn't perfectly cooked. Anyway I ate the firmer portion and was still quite full so that, when the waiter removed our plates and I mentioned it, I declined his offer to have another made. The pizza sizes are very generous to start with. Our wine, and the coffee, was good so we left very satisfied.

Visited on late Sunday afternoon, Sunday- Thursday Fixed Evening Menu, two courses £13.95, limited but reasonable choice, good size portions, food was very nice, great service, only complaint was the loud noise from a family with children, outside the restaurants control.Good background music, wine expensive, complementary Limoncello will definitely return, solid 4*, nearly a 5*.

I have never been here before either in its current guise or when it was the Ancorra but visited this evening with friends. All I can say is that I have missed out massively having lived locally for over 20 years. The menu has significant and varied choice with plenty to suit any palate. I opted for the grilled chicken breast with prawns in a light mustard sauce, which came with vegetables. The chicken was lovely with the sauce not being overpowering and the vegetables cooked fresh and, a rarity for nowadays, silver served. The meal was lovely. For dessert I opted for Bread and Butter pudding and again it was superb. My wife had a garlic pizza bread for starters which was huge and I gladly assisted her in demolishing it. For main course she opted for lasagne which she felt was a little too salty although when I tried some I found it full of flavour. Our friends meals looked lovely and they were also very complimentary. What enhanced the experience for me however was the service which was just spot on. Everyone was so friendly without being over the top, and everything was prompt without being rushed. The atmosphere inside also was very good with light music in the background but not at a level to drown the conversation. The bill too was very fair, working out at around £35 per head for 3 courses and a drink each. In an area heaving with decent eateries we now have another that will see our custom.

Lunchtime visit for two, arriving about 2pm. We were using some Tesco vouchers and both selected a different pizza. Mine was advertised as a garlic mushroom pizza with advocado, spinach and olives, but as it was vegan, without cheese. I requested no olives but did want cheese, and this was fine. My friend had a Tropicana pizza. On arrival of our choices, both pizzas were served on a plate that was too small and the pizza hung over the edge. My friend requested a pizza cutter, which seemed to surprise the staff member, who said she would try to find one and bring it to us. It never arrived. It is difficult to cut through pizza bread on a china plate. Meanwhile we struggled to cut into the pizza, which kept sliding off the plate. By the time a third was eaten, the rest was cold. My pizza, entitled garlic mushroom with etc etc, had appx 5 or 6 slices of wafer thin mushroom, which was less than one whole mushroom! The toppings on both, apart from the advocado, were very sparce, and not for the first time, did I suspect that this is a deliberate ploy when serving customers who have said they have vouchers to use. I have in the past frequented Prezzos in Chelmsford, Brentwood and Halstead without using vouchers and the service and food is very much better. Although the pizzas were ok, the service was poor and it will def be my last visit to Rayleigh.

Had a meal here on Friday night which was the Rod Stewart/Tina Turner tribute night. Was not impressed as our table was directly covering most of the walk way which I am sure is a Health and Safety issue!! Was constantly being bashed about by waiters and people trying to get to the toilet. The tribute acts themselves were brilliant, however, this place is far too small for this plus you are not told by staff that you will be put on video and used on their Facebook page. None of our table was impressed by our food and all in all, it made for an expensive night with service charge being added by the restaurant. Have tried a few times now and sorry to say, but will not be back
