San Giovanni is located in a strip mall and is definitely not much for ambience. But you can tell by their booming take-out business that this is a solid local restaurant. Their menu covers most of the standards, nothing flashy but it meets your hankering for something traditional. As an appetizer, do not miss the calamari strips....a lovely, tender calamari steak lightly breaded and flash fried (not greasy), cut into strips and served with a dipping sauce that has a nice kick. I had the lasagna and it was excellent, loaded with meet, noodles cooked perfectly, and a fantastic, garlicky, salty tomato sauce. They also offer a very nice super-tuscan red by the glass, an added bonus. Skip the desserts, far too sweet.

Come and join us at our Foothill Ranch location! A beautiful setting in the food court on the end opposite Regal Cinemas. Our location provides lots of room for your large events and yet remains cozy and intimate for the dinners with a movie. This locatio
The service was spot on, helpful but not too in your face. The minestrone soup arrived swiftly and was delicious. Cannelloni was just perfect. Served pipping hot with the pasta just right with super sauce and the cheese topping melted just right. I really did not need dessert but the cheesecake finished things off nicely! Highly recommended!!!

Love the variety of ingredients, the end product is just ok. The selection of draft brews is fun and in a pinch before or after a movie it works as long and you know what to expect. I also like to support local businesses so will put up with the average tastes and super super long wait to get through the pizza prep/selection part of the process.

Overly salted and with excessive amounts of garlic. If you find that appealing, this is your place. The portions are VERY large. Again, if thatâs your idea of good, this is your place. The menu looked good online, but it didnât work for us.

My wife and I love Italian food and when traveling will go out of our way to find the local gems. Sabatino is one of those gems! Everything from the pasta to the pizza is absolutely wonderful. The owners and staff take great pride in what they do which is reflected in the great food and atmosphere you'll experience. When we are in Mission Viejo this is our go to restaurant.

We have dined here several times and have always had a great experience. This small restaurant near the lake captures the essence of Italian cooking - simple preparations using outstanding ingredients. One of the best starters is actually not on the menu. It is only available when the chef can locate artichokes that meet his high standards. It is simply a wood-fire grilled artichoke slathered in EVO, and salt - and is outstanding. Another incredible starter is the bone marrow - simply delicious with crostini, roasted garlic and salt. Another excellent special (not on the menu) is the angle hair with shrimp and tomatoes. Pizzas are a specialty and the one with guanciale is outstanding - again simply prepared with fantastic ingredients. The wine list is very small, but all of the offerings are excellent examples of the varietal and/or region. It is a bit pricy, but pairs very well with the food offered here. Overall, a real Italian find in South Orange County.

Sooo Over-Priced!!!!Looking for a nearby pizzeria, I quickly found this one (Selmaâs Chicago Pizzeria). I ordered for take-out and I made the HUGE mistake of not asking the price (figuring that pizza prices are pizza prices......WRONG!). The employee didnât offer the price over the phone even though I didnât ask. When he brought out my simple medium pepperoni pizza, he said that was $17.13!!! Shocked, I exclaimed my surprise at the high price and even the employee said âI know. Iâm just the messenger.âHello AND Goodbye, Selmaâs Chicago Pizzeria!I should have known. Upon entering the pizzeria, there was only one couple eating there....and it was the dinner hour, albeit a Tuesday night. The pizza wasnât the best, by far. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Not too big, not too small and great food. I only ordered a few starter plates...but still good. The service was wonderful and the owner is always there and socializes which is really nice to see.
