This was my second visit to this establishment. We brought friends here for lunch on a quiet Saturday. We were the only ones in the place so the service and food should have been excellent. Not sure what happened but, our Milanese was white like it wasn't fried but just taken from the freezer and heated. Pretty tasteless and unappetizing. *Also they do not take credit cards so have cash. I feel bad that I took friends here for a meal. Anyone could do better in their own kitchen, not sure what happened. Won't be back. We regret their bad experience, our policy is to keep an eye on the customer, we are very grateful not to have noticed your disgust, to have noticed we would change the dish, we hope to return to rectify the bad experience

I must say this place has some of the best pasta I have ever eaten. It is very small so be sure to make reservations. Good wines, excellent waitstaff, and as I said fantastic pasta!!!

We were as impressed by the beautiful old furniture and service but less so by the food. The salad however would have served us better were there far less of a mountain of cheese and more Green Salad. Salad implies Green Vegetable not a 1/3 or more of chunks of cheese. My stir fry of chicken with rice. The chicken was far too dry to have been just cooked and a few more greens with the dish would be an improvement. The goolash dish was ok. Great wine selection.

Pizzas here have 2cm of cheese, tomato and not much of anything else. Far from your traditional italian pizza. It is more a tarte au fromage you will get. All this fat and tasteless. But if u starve it'll feed you!

We ate here twice during our stay. I had the best steak here of any place we ate in Argentina. Large portions, perfectly cooked, not much fat or gristle. Everything we ate here was good. Loved the mashed potato/pumpkin and the trout was terrific too. In addition to making food for busloads of rafters they kept up with large tables of travelers too. The owner was gracious and helped with translating fussy orders. The menu is quite large and varied.

Fonda Almafuerte is the typical "fonda argentina". We offer homemade meals and classic Argentinean desserts as well as special dishes with regional ingredients. All our dishes are prepared at the moment, so we guarantee freshness and flavor. We work with
I had the pleasure to be visiting VLA and found Fonda Almafuerte. Not only I was served in a warm and friendly way but the food surpassed all my expectations. Portions are huge, dishes well presented and very inviting and the price surprisingly affordable. Great atmosphere created by the unique ingredients added by its owners, Andy in the front of friendliness and service and George adding the necessary Magic to make me want to come back for more!

Excellent meal, great chef and different menu than most places we've been to in Chile and Argentina. Food is a little richer than what we eat normally but a taste treat. We got there at 8:30 pm without reservations and we were seated right away but by 10 pm the place was packed. Staff were all professional and pleasant. I love the idea of a wine room, you go there to select your wine rather than looking at a menu. Prices seemed reasonable. We would definitely return.

Dinner (ate there twice!) was excellent! Young and friendly staff took good care of us. No English menus but the staff covered us gringos most graciously. We were seeking meat alternatives (generally not all that easy in Argentina) and found some. The salad with cut green vegetables was lovely, as were a couple of their pastas. As said, we returned a second night. Give it a try.
