Porto Santo Stefano (Italian: [ˈpɔrto ˈsanto ˈsteːfano]) is a seaport town on the west coast of Italy, in the municipality of Monte Argentario, in the Province of Grosseto, Tuscany. It is the municipal seat of Monte Argentario and one of the two major towns that form the township, along with Porto Ercole. The region is on the slopes of Mount Argentario, which dominates the whole area. Porto Santo Stefano is 150 kilometres (95 miles) northwest of Rome.

We found this bar by accident, the temperature outside was a little to cold to sit outside for beers so we chose this bar because you have a good view on the bay in a room that is kind of enclosed like a greenhouse. When we entered I was surprised by how welcoming the bartenders were and also by their large selection of beers, they even had Belgian beer . The bar got more and more crowded by hip locals and at a certain moment there were free snacks for everyone. Not just chips and peanuts, but like prosciutto, olives, bread with pâté etc. - proper Italian-style hors d'oeuvres. Great place if you want to chill and soak up a cool local vibe ...

We walked by the restaurant every day, it looked a little dilapidated from the outside, but it was always busy. So we tried it, and we were very satisfied with the fish and pasta, reasonable prices and a great scenic spot right on the water looking out of the town. Service was efficient, but the servers were not interested in any conversation, and my wife does speak Italian. Also looks like a good spot for a scenic lunch.

We had a Saturday dinner (Feb16) at La Bussola. Great food, simple, homemade, fresh. Low season at Porto San Stefano, so we were only foreigners among other customers. Local families, couples, friends, - wonderful cozy atmosphere, it seems all people know each other. Very welcoming hosts, smiling, attentive. Highly recommended!

We had a lovely sunset dinner looking toward Giglio from the patio of this fine restaurant. The chef and her staff (including some family) are very warm and inviting. And the quality of the food matches the incredible setting. We had several courses, with each one adding another magical layer of bounty, fresh from the sea.If you are in the area, and you do not stop here for dinner, you have missed one of the most magnificent experiences offered in Italy!

Wonderful food served with a smile. Grilled meat, chicken fried in breadcrumbs both served with potatoes two desserts (panna cotta) to die for! Water and half litre of house wine â¬37.50.

We were warmly welcomed and given a free room upgrade when we arrived to stay the one night. We also booked a table at the on sight restaurant.At dinner we were welcomed by the professional maitre d`and knew straight away we were in for a unique meal experience. We were seated immediately and the service got better and better each minute we were there. We put our self in the hands of an experienced sommelier for the wine and we had a taster menu which was excellent. It was wow from beginning to the end. One of the best meal experiences we have ever had.

We booked the restaurant for the last night of our holiday. The restaurant lives up to its billing. Whilst the venue is understated, the food, service and wine is of the best quality. The menu was limited but there was something for everyone. We had a super evening in a nice cosy atmosphere. Would strongly recommend it. Make sure you book

Carino il posto e ottima accoglienza. Ma per il cena davvero buona con verdure fresche e non solo. ⬠10 con drink e ti passa la paura. Si può ordinare anche al piatto che quello che faremo la volta prossima.Bravi.
