Things to do in Portiragnes
We had heard that the Rendezvous des Bateliers had been taken over by new management and wanted to try it out . It was a lovely Spring day so we chose a table outside on the terrace in the sunshine . It was great for watching the World go by on their bicycles along the canal path or the boats being readied for the tourists in the port Cassaffieres . The wonderful restaurant setting really is very pleasant .The menu was good value at 23⬠with a choice of starters , main meal & dessert or cheese . We chose the house red wine in a jug . I hesitated between a pizza or the fish & chips , my husband chose the menu ( charcuterie & nice sized entrecote steak , tarte tatin ) & our friends who had invited us went à la carte with gambas & duck breast . We all enjoyed our meal , though I must admit I was disappointed not to have chips with my fish as advertised , although I did eat the cougette flan & provencial tomato that garnished my fish .The new owners came to our table to say hello & the waitress was very efficient & pleasant . We wish them the best of luck in their new enterprise .We intend to come back on our bikes , along the canal for a fancy icecream & shandy next time .

Lovely pizzas on a perfect stoneground base - Delicious. Friendly staff. Not expensive, typical pizza restaurant prices 9-13 euros.Would certainly recommend. Not a lot of space or tables so may be best to book ahead.Always pretty full.Just opposite the train station.

Really good takeaway pizzas. Lovely service whilst waiting. Cooked fresh and delicious. Conveniently right next door to Carrefour.

We went here based on Tripadvisor reviews. First impression was that this was one of the many pizerias in tourist town. The menu was not realy impressive. Nothing special for the kids like hamburger or nuggets. But once the food arrived it turned to be quite good. Starters where exellent, main course was good. Nothing for vegetariabs though. The pizza was very good, one of the kids thought this was the best pizza in 2 wks time.Nice desert too. It was fully booked with French customers, local and tourists. The only 2 waiters did their best to keep up, but it was unavoidable we had to wait a bit long for desert and the bill.Friendky staff.Simple restaurant, but where happy we went here. Reservations recommended.

A hidden gem. Reviews on TripAdvisor made us have a meal here at the establishment. The reviews didnât fail us. Meal was wonderful the staff were welcoming and friendly. Best brush up on your French/Italian or have google translate at the ready. The waitress didnât know any English ( I think she was the owner, by the sounds of other reviews) but we got by with hand suggestions/movements. Had the best arancini outside of Sicily.

I came with my family. The restaurant is located in a calm street in a fresh corner The restaurant is equipped with baby chair. The pizzas are generous and service is friendly. Overall, above the level of a tourist restaurant. Good value for money.

Read the /A reviews and had some reservations, but we've been here several times now and it's always been good. Apart from the regular menu there are formulas. There's the wood fired pizza which is excellent. Service is charming and polite. The wine list limited but has some great things to choose from. We'd return here anytime and in fact we will !!

La Cremade overlooks the Canal du Midi and offers a wide range of food. We ate tapas and magret de canard - all nicely cooked and presented. Huge servings yet reasonably priced. Waiting staff were friendly and helpful. Altogether a wonderful last night of our holiday.

Amazingly we have had our house in the next village to Cerys for 15 years and this is the first year we actually found this restaurant. It had been recommended to us a number of times but when we drove through the village to look for it a no entry sign diverted us away from it. This time we decided to park up and go on foot and we are so glad we did. The pizzas are fantastic with lots of choice for toppings. There are also a good selection of salads, pasta and meats to chose from. The star of the show however has to be the cafe gourmand. 5 individual delightful little desserts served with coffee. Absolutely to die for. Staff are lovely, friendly and attentive. The prices are excellent. We have been 4 times so far and look forward to returning many times in the future.
