L'etable is actually a charcuterie and cheese shop, with a few tables outside. We came upon it while walking around St. Germain, and a very good find it was. They offer plates of various kinds of ham, sausage, pate etc., with salad if you like that sort of thing. (Rabbits do. I don't.), The cheeses looked - and smelled - first rate.Everything was beautifully made, fresh and full of flavour and texture. There is a short, excellent wine list. The Rue des Louviers is quiet and pleasing. The prices are good value for money at this quality. The service, by a cheerful, motherly lady, was prompt, considerate and helpful. One can, of course, buy charcuterie or cheese to eat elsewhere, but a light, sit-down lunch on a very hot day was delightful. We departed much refreshed.Highly recommended for both food and service.Dear John,Many thanks for your kind message. I and Lucia, the motherly lady :-) appreciate a lot ! Hope to see you soon,Aymeric

well we got a hotel in this area which was poor so we dicided to go for food then taxi to eiffel tower and get a hotel there anyway, staff here phoned for taxi we waited over 2 hours which was fine as we wined and dined staff was really helpfull and kind, only if this restaurant was more central to paris it would be perfect but a must visit if nearby.

The staff were friendly. The food was pleasant home cooking without frills. The house wine was perfectly acceptable. The bill was a pleasant surprise.

Place is small, nice decoration, extravagant in some ways, food was good but our dishes ver uncomfortable to eat due to the plates we got, way too expensive and they give an arrogant impression

Really good pizza! This place makes pizza the way they do in Italy, with thin crust. A really good pizzeria!

I wouldn't call this place a restaurant - it is more a place where you can grab a sandwich or some food to go, even though there are few tables where you can eat it. I only tried a sandwhich, which was tastefull and the owner was very nice.

La Romantica is hidden away in a quiet courtyard off one of the pedestrianised shopping streets in Poissy. The restaurant is clean, fresh, with well-spaced tables and feels very welcoming. Four of us ate (and drank) for less than 200 euros, so pretty good price/quality ratio. We started with simple entrees of tomato salad and beautifully battered king prawn. Along with another diner, I moved on to beef steak in Gorgonzola and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. At 29 euros, the wine worked well and for dessert I enjoyed a well made panna cotta. All in all, a pleasant evening in nice surroundings, with an excellent, well-priced meal.

Looking for something simple for lunch after visiting the nearby Villa Savoye we followed recommendations on TA and headed for Casa Nonna. On the main shopping street up a small alleyway we were warmly welcomed and took a nice seat in the corner where we could watch the chef prepare the pizza - always one of the highlights for me in such restaurants! From previous reviews we weren't sure what to expect in terms of looks but were pleasantly surprised at the décor which was simple and clean if rather dated. Certainly in no way off putting! On a Tuesday lunchtime we were also surprised at how quickly the restaurant filled up with locals - always a good sign - and together with some pleasant back ground music all added up to a great lunchtime atmosphere.Having watched them being made, our pizzas when they arrived looked and tasted amazing with one of the nicest crispiest bases Ive had for a long time. Toppings were generous and delicious and prices were around the EUR10-12 mark or just shy of EUR 13 for two courses on the daily set lunch set menu with good value drinks.Casa Nonna has all the hallmarks of a traditional family restaurant run by husband (chef) and wife (waitress) and service was super friendly and quick. Overall bill for two of us including starters, pizzas, a huge slice of home-made Tarte Tatin, drinks and coffees was still less than EUR 50.Locally there is plenty of on and off-street parking with the usual free lunchtime period, a beautiful church, walks along the Seine and the wonderful Villa Savoye. Certainly enough to keep you occupied and worth making a detour to visit if in the area.An excellent value find and delicious food. Definitely recommended!
