We grabbed dinner here while attending a national conference just across the road. We have dined at other Grimaldi's over the years in Las Colinas, south of Denver, and elsewhere. The one here in Allen is right on par. Even on a busy summer night, we were seated immediately. Our sever, Jenny, was exceptional. There were some grand wine choices. We ordered a custom wood fired pie that was served to perfection. A real delight at a reasonable price!

This is a small neighborhood family restaurant tucked into a corner of one of Planoâs shopping centers. Seating is available both indoors and out (basically in the parking lot). The menu has all the Italian choices youâd expect, including pizza, as well as several house specialties. The best part: BYOB. We were able to snag one of the last outdoor tables on a Friday at 6 pm â soon after the place was full. Itâs noisy, tables are close together and small (it felt like we were eating on a postage stamp). Our group ordered Braciole, Chicken Agnolotti, Shrimp Parm and Veal Parm. The verdict â good! Portions are ample. Thereâs no ambience here â nothinâ fancy - best visited with friends and a few bottles of wine.

My family and parents (8 in party) went for dinner on a Tuesday night. Not crowded at all. We placed our order, the waitress was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. 4 ordered pizzas and 4 ordered entrees. We got calamari for our appetizer which was delicious and not rubbery. The sauce is REALLY spicy, but good. When another lady, not our waitress, brought out the calamari, I asked for more bread, and after she went to get it, my two daughters said she rolled her eyes at me after I asked. Weird. The 4 entrees came out first, and then about 10 minutes later each pizza came out about 5 minutes apart. We had started to eat our entrees since it was taking so long and because we were by the front door and the cold 30degree air was cooling down our food. My husband was the last to get his pizza (almost 20 minutes after we got our entrees) after almost everyone was done eating their food. The waitress apologized, but gave no reason for why it took so long. The food was just ok, and not good enough to come back.

Kennyâs Italian Kitchen serves classic "Southern Italian American" food modeled after the "Little Italy" sections of Boston and New York. These Italian American styles of veal, chicken and seafood will include Parmigiana, Picatta and Marsala. Of course Ke
It is located within a strip mall with many other restaurant options. Kenny's has decent food at reasonable prices. The service was excellent and the wine list, while small, is also well priced. I had the chicken marsala. The chicken was a little over cooked and the sauce had too much sugar. It was more pasty than I expected for a marsala sauce. They allow you to do split portions on most entrees, so you can enjoy two different dishes if you have a hard time deciding. I'd go back, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

I wrote a review of North Italia about a year ago. I felt the need to delete that one and post this. They still have the best bolognese Iâve had in Plano, but the service has gone from average to consistently bad. We just came back from our third visit in a row where the front of the house was all high school girls instagramming and our servers were terrible. They used to have experienced, customer focused employees and now I could probably get better service at an IHOP. I donât know whatâs going on at this place, but the food isnât good enough to outweigh the service. Itâs seriously that bad. Saddens me to say because I enjoy the food, but we probably wonât be back.

The bread is amazing and all entrees were delicious. The Rigatoni âDâ has long been a favorite, the Eggplant Parmesan is always delicious and the Crab Cake Benedict was declared incredible! Always nice to walk out with the Take Home Pasta dishes too. Service was spot on, friendly and made the meal.

My wife and I eat lunch at lease twice a month at the restaurant. Prior to that, with our children we ate at the original location at Walnut and Shilo. We return because of the food, service, and atmosphere.

I took some out of town co-workers here for a casual dinner. It was a mostly good experience with a couple of exceptions I hope they correct. First of all, it is not a very big restaurant, despite the three levels. The first level has a typical restaurant feel, the third has a bar atmosphere, and the second I would only sit in if I had to. The second level mostly has a narrow bar to eat along a busy corridor. Service was friendly and accommodating. You sit yourself in the bar area, which makes it a great option when they are crowded, which they often are. Pizza was excellent, especially the crust. One of the pizzas we ordered was a special with Lockhart burnt ends. I love Lockhart's burnt ends so was excited to order that. It was tasty but their were so few tiny pieces of burnt ends that I felt like it was misrepresented. Otherwise the pizzas were excellent and I especially loved they did overload them with too much cheese. That allowed the crust and other ingredients to shine through. Their beer is always extra cold, which I like. One other thing I wish they would change was the odd strolling musician. It did not add anything. Tip: When the weather is nice the rooftop patio is a perfect option. Otherwise, I really like sitting in the bar. Hospitality Factor: Mixed. Front of the house was harried and unorganized. However, the wait staff in the bar was friendly, helpful and prompt. This is a great option when you are in the area.
