My wife and I had tickets to see the wonderful at the Congress Theatre. We asked Trip Adviser for a list of restaurants close to the theatre to have a pre- show meal. Rosetto turned out to be a brilliant choice. Small enough to be called "intimate" the first impression was immediately enhanced by the warm and genuine welcome. The menu is quite extensive and not all pasta. Our meal was served without delay and with a smile. Both of our choices turned out to be well cooked and delicious. The reasonably priced wine was fine; offered by the glass or bottle. We shared a desert and this too was fabulous. Well done Rosetto!Thank you for the positive review and for recommending us to other TripAdvisors readers with 5 stars. Our great team of kitchen staff led by our Head Chef Radmir Hoti, greatly appreciate your comments. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Rosetto's.

Hadn't been to Eastbourne before and after a bit of wandering about we were looking for a late lunch - and found an absolute gem. Very polite, friendly and efficient staff and wonderful food. Won't hesitate to go again when in the area.

This location has been a number of different eateries over the last few years. Now, the current incarnation of Mamma Mia is serving very good simple Italian food at reasonable priices. Open at lunchtime and late week into weekend evenings. All in all, excellent food in tidy surroundings with friendly staff.PS - do not get confused by references to "Nando", it's the owners name:-)

The staff are friendly and efficient. The Decor is quietly Italian. The menu is vast. Lunchtime menus are interesting and competitively priced. The restaurant is very popular and I would recommend booking for peak times. Having tried many local restaurants... this one is by far the best in town.

Exceptional food, friendly service and well worth a visit if you enjoy Italian fine dining in a personable setting. We are so pleased to have found this place! The Lobster ravioli is other worldly, but also had the lip smacking Rostick and chilli sauce, carpaccio and aubergine and Gorgonzola. One of the best meals Iâve had in years.

Our second visit to this restaurant confirmed our first impressions. Excellent food, beautifully cooked and presented, by a waitress who really knew her business. Conversation confirmed that, as we had guessed, this is a family business and gives one the feeling of being an honoured guest, not just a customer. The waitress suggested that we try the Aglianico red wine as being nearest to the Primitivo which, unfortunately, they did not have. She was completely right. No one could have chosen better. She was also able to explain each dish and it's preparation. We left more than satisfied and vowed to return soon. Learning Italian is not rquitred but I felt that I should learn a few words to thank her, and the chef, properlyThank you Anthony, we hope to see you again. Anema e Core Family

Very happy with service, friendliness and helpfulness of staff and food was really tasty. However we both had seafood - one risotto and one spaghetti. Risotto had one prawn, one baby octopus and a handful of mussels which had certainly not been cooked fresh. At this time of year a restaurant has no excuse for not being able to serve up fresh mussels. The odd cockle, clam, and bit of squid would have enhanced the dish even if they had to come straight out of the freezer. The location is excellent and I would not rule out a return visit but we would certainly not be ordering a seafood dish.Dearest brianThanks so much for your review. So so happy to read that you enjoyed our no frills approach to traditional italian food and served with a smile by my family team. Im sorry that you felt there was not enough seafood in both your spaghetti allo scoglio and the risotto. We dont use fresh mussels but the best blanched mussels that money can buy. We have sourced them from the same supplier for the last 20 years. I just wish you would have said something to my family team who would have sorted that out for you straight away. I hope you will come and see us again and would be most happy to offer you something on the house as an apology. With very kind regards the head of the simply italian family

Starter was served extremely quickly, almost immediately after we had just been given our drinks, which was great. Food was nice but nothing special. After starter finished, again, food came out very quickly. One meal was salmon which was nice but had been under a hot plate for some time as it was hard around the edges where there was no sauce, but all food was hot. Our other meal was a calzone which was very tasty. Knocked off two stars as we were not told about the specials and would have certainly chosen from there had we been made aware before our meal order was taken - we noticed afterwards. Waited some time to get the attention of the waiting staff just for salt as none on the table. Waitress forgot to bring dessert menu after offering, asked a young waiter who smiled and nodded but clearly hadnât heard my asking for the dessert menu again. Took a long time to get attention to be able to pay the bill. I appreciate when the restaurant starts to empty there is clearing down to do but with customers still waiting this should still be a priority. Nice food, but average and could be improved with better service.
