Iâm not a big fan of posting negative reviews, but nothing gets up my nose more than being ripped off by pretentious restaurants who charge absurd prices for bad food and tiny portions. And that was Russo & Russo. Now I read the other bad reviews I get exactly what theyâre saying. In retrospect, the smell of âhospitalâ when we first walked in shouldâve been enough to send us fleeing... When we ordered we were told everything was made to share however this is baffling because everything we ordered was barely a mouthful, and none of it was appetising, in fact, everything tasted just plain weird (could be the hospital thing). And it was all ridiculously overpriced ($20 for a plate of four Brussel sprouts â seriously?!) We couldnât wait to leave. We paid the bill, left and went elsewhere for another meal!

We couldnât decide where to eat so looked online, last minute (HD) this restaurant had great reviews ...... and they were true. The food was delicious, not overly expensive and the staff were all smiling and attentive but not overbearing (which can sometimes ruin an experience). We had grilled haloumi, spanakopita, grilled prawns and Greek salad and every single dish was a smash! The menu is small but has enough options .... if you know Greek menus they can be like a novel. I canât recommend this place enough ..... if you have the chance, go.

Very much looking forward to this after doing some research. Did the degustation menu which is good value at $155 for Sydney. The first three tasters were porcini crackers, nut tart and egg, porcini and tart were excellent. Next a crab and macadamia dish, very smart. The Aguachile was one of my favorites, tuna and beetroot, amazing presentation, textures and flavors. The meat agnolotti was my least favorite dish, quite oily/greasy. Hapuka was good and the lamb similar but loved the baby turnips as the side. The two desserts were stunning, would rate the White chocolate and sudachi a little ahead of the buffalo. There is value to be found on the wine list. We had a entry level chablis. The chef was on holiday but the kitchen was coping well. Friendly service from staff. The 4/5 rating is because I was a little underwhelmed as a few courses did not live up to my expectation. But certainly very good value for Sydney.

Grappa, Grappa...where have you been all my life? This restaurant is the reason I'm writing my first review on TripAdvisor. If you're a foodie, then you've hit the jackpot. The food is absolutely stunning. We had the prosciutto figs with gorgonzola and pistachios and for mains the ravioli and maltagliati. All so fresh and delicious. What I loved most about the ravioli was the sauce. It tasted so delicate and fresh with big halves of sweet cherry tomatoes. The service was excellent with attentive waitresses and a friendly owner weaving through the tables and helping out. They had a great children's menu (and the restaurant had a relaxed family vibe too). I had a glass of the shiraz which was to die for. My water glass was never empty and I loved the white tablecloths. Yes you could go somewhere else for a cheaper meal, but why would you? I have lived near Leichhardt for 10 years and only discovered this gem tonight. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger...I'll be back.

Extremely tasty food. Prompt and cheerful service. Our party consisted of three generations. Quite small, so gets very crowded and noisy - if weather permits, larger parties can be accommodated on the balcony

This little cafe in Norton Street is great value for money. We visited for an early dinner with our dog and were well looked after on an outside footpath table. The waiter was most obliging in ensuring they could cater for food intolerances and he made us feel very welcome. The meals were not complicated and expertly prepared. It was a treat on a week night when we didn't feel like cooking and on the whole a positive experience.

Established in 1992, La Ricetta is located in vibrant and cosmopolitan Enmore. During the past 12 years it has earned a reputation for exceptionally high quality, seasonal Italian cuisine with both locals and theatre patrons alike. La Ricetta offers that
The pasta's pretty good, I particularly like the use of chitarra (egg spaghetti), but it wasn't good enough to justify the extreme prices. The ragu had one really tendy and tasty chunk of meat but the rest of the pieces were quite chewy - nowhere near as good as the cheaper ragu I got from La Favola. The other pasta was the big problem: I ordered carbonara specifically because the menu makes no mention of cream - I prefer it without cream and it's hard to find a restaurant that does it without cream. Well, La Ricetta uses cream. Disgraceful to not include that in the list of ingredients.

We had the pappardelle with the lamb shanks, the fettuccine, and the ravioli.. Beautiful food, very tasty. Three of us had the cheese cake for dessert, which was death by cheesecake. Delicious!! The pannacotta was also delicious, but I was glad I had the cheesecake... rolled out of there very happy!!

There used to be a huge selection of excellent Italian restaurants along Norton Street but many of them appear to have disappeared. I guess is the result of the significant parking charges imposed by the local Council. However Moretti's is an excellent example of what used to be here. The food is excellent. They certainly serve pizzas but there is a long list of other genuine Italian food choices available.Lovely décor, level access and high chairs. Indoor seating only. Not cheap but worth the expenditure.
