North Wilkesboro is the birthplace and original home of Lowe's Home Improvement, which continues to have a major presence in the community. The town is also known as one of the birthplaces of the sport of stock-car racing, and the North Wilkesboro Speedway was the first NASCAR-sanctioned track. Due to the town's proximity to the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains and the numerous tourist venues there, North Wilkesboro has been nicknamed the "Key to the Blue Ridge".

Branciforte is mostly very good, most of the time.I met a friend for lunch recently...we have eaten lunch there many times, and are very familiar with the menu. We ordered (whole) sandwiches with pasta salad, which is a very affordable lunch, yummy and generous portions. After we had ordered, our waiter came to tell us that they were out of pasta salad. Bummer. But, OK. We ordered side salads instead. When we received our plates, we had half-sandwiches and small salads (even for side salads). When we asked, we were told that since we "upgraded" to salads, that lunch "special" only included a half sandwich. Ummmm. But...the only reason we asked for salads was because the promised pasta salad was not available. Usually, in any restaurant, if a menu item is sold out or otherwise unavailable, they will offer any reasonable substitution. I guess not here. Instead of biggish whole sandwiches with a generous (as usual) side of filling pasta salad that we expected, we had half-sandwiches and small salads. We were still hungry, so we ordered a pizza. The food was all very good. Service was attentive and friendly. Our problem was either a policy issue, or a communication issue. We wound up spending a lot more for lunch than planned, plus we didn't get what we wanted.

We love Village Inn pizza. The special order pizzas are much better than the buffet pizza. They are much more generous with toppings on special orders. And we were thrilled to learn that they have lowered their prices! Go get a pie!

I highly recommend the pizza and garlic knots here!! They are both OUTSTANDING. Got a To Go order and it was ready in 15 minutes. Staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Look forward to coming back and trying some other dishes... they have a lot to choose from!!

John Roselli has done it again. Food is outstanding , highest quality, just like I would get 50 years ago when eating at his Mon's Sunny Italy. Very small only 3 or 4 tables. Ready to go back . Birthday dinner

We like this Olive Garden a lot. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is always hot and fresh (unless it is supposed to be cold and fresh). The dining room and restrooms are well maintained and clean. When I am by myself, I enjoy sitting in the bar area, with really nice natural light and televisions. One of the nice things about Olive Garden is that they always have some sort of special and/or seasonal offering going on...it keeps the menu interesting so there is usually something new to try. We've had several meals at this Olive Garden lately....look at the pictures.
