Didn’t expect to find something like this in Niigata, excellent and affordable casual fine dining. Had a great alcohol selection, reminded me of home. The head chef Josh introduced himself to us, didn’t expect to see another Aussie behind this crafty kitchen. Josh even shouted us a round of beers!! Great bloke!!

　他の皆さんが書いていらっしゃるように、料理はレベルが高い。ただ、店のインテリアは、ここが「イタリアントマト」や「サイゼリア」だといわれても、そうかもしれないと思ってしまうそっけないもの。　料理のプレゼンテーションも、皿やカトラリーは、素晴らしいものなのに、料理の盛りつけに工夫が足りず、特別な感動はない。高級レストランは、料理の質以上に店内のインテリアや、料理のプレゼンテーションなどが醸し出すアトモスフィアーが大事だ。この店は、新潟では有名なイタリアンレストランと聞く、銀座にもお店があるとのことなので、そちらでは1クラス上の体験が得られるのだろうか。銀座店に行ってみたくなった。

Right outside Niigata station! If you’ve just arrived and you want something familiar, it’s definitely worth checking out.The pizzas are outstanding, with really soft dough and fresh ingredients. The prices aren’t too high, and the food comes out quickly. You can also see the chefs and the stone oven, which I thought was a nice touch.

有100年以上歴史的老房子「小鍛冶屋」；據說以前是打鐵舖，也曾是私人住宅，後來被改建了我們今日所見到的餐廳，仍保留當年打鐵舖的光與熱，用鐵燈架作為餐廳的LOGO與裝飾；嗯~~很有溫度，很有味道的一個空間。今日的前菜有冷跟熱，冷前菜是金目鯛沙拉，熱前菜是蝦義大利麵，都很美味，也很合口味。雙主菜之一是海鮮，食材用的是當地的魚跟牡蠣，這醬汁還真是好吃，搭配上特製的手工麵包，真是太美味了；嗯～這裡的麵包也做得很好哦！！第二道主菜是陸上的美味；今天吃的是當地牛作的烤牛肉，搭配上當季的無花果，哇～~絕配，還有特選的菇與橘色小番茄，搭配入口，清爽無比，感覺上負擔小了耶！！最後，再用甜點來收胃；真是幸福的夜晚。巧克力慕斯加上當季無花果與特調的醬汁，嗯~~看起來也許並不美，但入口的滋味真是美妙，微苦的巧克力，搭配上無花果的甜、鮮，也讓人在味蕾上留下了秋季的美味記憶。整體來說，我喜歡這裡的餐飲跟氛圍，有時間的朋友們，別錯過嚕！！

They serve their own brewed craft beer like Pale Ale, Amber Ale Stout with Italian style dishes made with local ingredients. Very easy place to stay.
