Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Napa. Gold and silver may have been behind the hordes that flocked in the 1800s, but liquid gold - Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons and Pinot Noirs - is behind the modern migration. This dream destination for wine lovers has an abundance of fine restaurants and inns. Horse posts have been replaced by bike racks, and pedal power is a great way to explore.

Are you wanting a Napa Valley high-end food experience, without having to break the budget? This is your place. Everything is casual, order-at-the-counter-and-pick-up, whether it's fully prepared or take-and-bake. Seating is very limited and super-casual. We stopped by for take-away. We got a half-order of take-and-bake balsamic braised pork, some potatoes gratin, and small grapefruit salad, and it was enough for three of us to eat dinner at home, all for less than $40. (Ordering a similar meal in other Napa restaurants would easily cost you $100 or more.) The take-and-bake items include easy instructions, so even if your cooking skills are nil, you can handle it. (If you can turn on your oven, you can do it.) We loved the flatbread that is included with any food order! The pizzas on display looked and smelled fabulous. Everything is upscale, with quality ingredients and expert preparation. You can watch the process--the kitchen is completely open to view. On the day of our visit, 20% of our order contributed to our neighbors' fundraiser for their high-school son's upcoming trip overseas for an international sporting event. (So you know they're involved in the community.) I'm also told that the restaurant is itself a good cause, providing culinary training for at-risk young people. Get in to the Foodshed; everybody wins!

Visited with some people we met in the hotel and really enjoyed the food. The pizzas were nice and the wine we had with the meal was lovely.

We stopped at Velo's in the Ranch Market in Yountville for lunch while wine tasting along the Silverado Trail. While it bills itself as pizzeria, we found the sandwiches to be really good. They are made to order and use fresh ingredients and great bread and rolls. It was good to sit outside and relax before setting off on wine tasting again.

Really nice place- the service was top notch. Not stuffy at all but casually friendly and just perfect. Food quality excellent- the corn salad was a very nice surprise- delicious. The pasta dishes and pizzas we got were excellent. Pizzas in particular were a big hit- excellent crust and sauce, and great selection of toppings.Excellent wine list. Only complaint is the noise. WOW. And have been to many places that are on the noisy side- that is fine. But, this was a whole new level. They really need to install some noise absorbing tiles or something. Was over the top difficult to hear anything.

Met for a business lunch and wanted a lighter nite, but couldn't resist the pizza salad combo. I asked if they'd crisp up the pizza dough--very nice, huge (could't eat all the deliciousness) with spinach and all--eaten like a sandwich. Great service and nice bar, and wine list too.

We have a smaller midday menu from 2-5 in the afternoons in order to prep for dinner, thanks for understanding.
Great dining experience from start to finish. Hostess very friendly. Seated right away. Server came over in timely manner. Introduced himself. Asked us for beverage order and explained the menu. Food served fairly fast and was delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try .

On Your Next Trip to Napa Valley, enjoy a cozy luncheon or a candle-lit dinner at Ristorante Allegria. Allegria is located in a Historic Bank Landmark, built in 1916, in the heart of downtown Napa. Ristorante Allegria is one of the top Napa Valley Dining
We went to allegria beacause we knew it was one of the famous restaurants in Napa city. We were attended by a very kind waitress, who was also fast. We started with a very good Robert Mondavi Chardonnay and a great portobello mushroom starter. The main courses were a bad surprise, however.. I ordered the special fish day plate wich was not bad, but not great and my wife ordered a carbage salad with chicken. The salad sauce was tough and we couldnt eat two spoons of it. The chicken was dry and without seasoning.. we hated the salad, it was so heavy because of the sauce, we didnt finished it, of course. We'd never expected a so bad salad in a so great enviroment and expensive restaurant.

I've been coming here with my family over 20 years since I was in high school, it does not disappoint. The gnocchi and linguine with clams are one of my favorites. A little loud for a romantic evening but a great time out with friends always, sitting inside or out! Ask for the spicy dipping oil!!!
