Great quiet cafe bar just outside the walls of Groznjan. Interesting selection of local craft beers but we were informed that they had stopped selling pizza due to lack of interest. Shame, as we were hungry and had to make do with bread and cheese. However, the view is amazing and the ambience of the place made up fir the lack of food. We would go back if ever revisiting the town. Well worth it.
It was my second time there. Again, amazingly good food, excellent taste of everything that we had. Everything from their local farm - meat, vegetables, wine... Reasonable value for money. Owners very friendly, polite, ready to explain the food, to give proposals, explain the way of food preparation... Very recommended !!!

Nice family operated Istrian restaurant located at the entrance to Oprtalj with stunning views from their terrace overlooking the nearby hills wit olive trees and vineyards. Home made food with local ingredients (they claim everything is local in radius of 10km from Oprtalj). You can also see the process in the kitchen as it has got big windows. During our visit they were just making homemade pasta. The food was very good, fresh and tasty, perfectly matched with their wines. One of their specials are sweet ravioli, which I certainly recommend.Just across the street their is a small shop with their products - wines, olive oils, truffles etc.

This is a great find , it's rustic and has a local client base. We had a fantastic meal , the portions are substantial I brought mine home as I only managed to eat half of the delicious truffle and cream pasta .The bill was more than reasonable and we will be visiting again , before our holiday ends

We found this restaurant by luck, because others were already fully booked. If you ask me today, we would go straight here, without even considering others. Not an easy nor quick way to reach Oprtalj, but totally worthed it. Nice terrace with tree shade is perfect place on hot days, chef and owner is all over the place, taking orders, bringing food, taking care of his guests. We were lucky, because he still had some portions from âunder the iron bellâ cooking, which was fairly said the best I had ever tried. Homemade paste with truffles was also very delicious. My reccomendation would be to simply ask the chef of what he thinks is the best deal of the day. Only one thing-payment only in cash, so come prepared.Highly reccomendable!!Thumbs up!!
