We met Bruno, the restaurateur, in the morning and he offered to cook whatever we wanted that evening. We chose liver, which was a change from the ubiquitous choice of veal, lamb or beef, and it was very good. Thank you Bruno

We often have a lunch or dinner at this restaurant. Location is fantastic. Food is pure with fresh ingredients. Wine list is good for such a small restaurant. Most pasta is homemade.

Is a little and distinctive place where you can taste and buy cheeses and other Italian delicacies such as typical wines, salami, mushrooms and truffles. The place is open all year round (9-13 16-19.30) and from April to September is open all day. On Sund

Restaurant located in the countryside near Anghiari. We booked a table here via The Fork. Interesting menu. My boyfriend ordered gnocchi, as first dish, while I had codfish served with potatoes bread. My fish was good. As main dish we both ordered boar and porcini mushrooms cooked in the oven on a vine leaf. We enjoyed the food. Service was warm and professional. With 1 small bottle of local wine, 1 bottle of water, 1 dessert (a delicious pistacchio smifreddo) and 2 coffees we paid about 85â¬. Parking for free but not comfortable for disables.

We had been recommended this place by friends and family who had visited before, but had been warned we might find it difficult to get a table as we were a party of six adults and three children, and they don't take bookings. We arrived just after twelve on a weekday lunch time, and found one large table still available. It's a lovely setting, right at the top of the village, and the tables are arranged at the edge of the small square, under the dappled shade of the trees. We saw a few people had just had a glass of wine and a plate of meat, and there were also a couple of low tables which looked like a lovely spot for a drink and a nibble. The menus were in Italian but we managed to work out what most things were and ordered plates of salami, and other cured pork, bresaola, cooked pork and caprese salad which we shared to start (four plates between six adults was plenty), along with a round of spritzs and a small carafe of the house red for the non spritz drinker among us. (There was a great wine list which I would have loved to have sampled, but it was a spritz kind of moment) Everything was really really delicious- we were delighted with our choices! We all went for pasta dishes after, which were simple, with four different pasta shapes and a choice of ragu, tomato, truffle or mushroom sauce available, but also very tasty. The inside is worth a look in its own right - a kind of wine cave which is apparently a great place to purchase wines. There was only one child seat available and this was suitable for a calm toddler, but definitely not a baby or a wrigglier child! We all came away feeling that we had just enjoyed a simple, but delicious and authentic lunch in a lovely setting. Well worth a visit, if only for a drink and a plate of amazing salami before dinner.

The menu isn't vast, but everything we had was well cooked and nicely presented. The meats we had were beautifully tender and my partner raved about the two kinds of steak that he chose on our two nights there. The house wines were not expensive and we enjoyed both the red and the white. What I really appreciated is that there was no coercion to order more than you wanted. Some people were eating several courses, whilst others had one. We shared a very nice platter of antipasti and it would have been far too much for one alone. My favourite dish was an excellent pizza (quattro formaggi).. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Our food is inspired by the surroundings and reflects the traditions of the area. You will find gastronomic delights like homemade pasta with truffles, or porcini mushrooms, Chianina beef and Fiorentina T-bone steak. Special attention is given to a select
La Pieve Vecchia is one of our favourite restaurants. This evening was challenging for the staff, as the unsettled weather meant that customers were seated both outdoors and indoors. The staff coped admirably and the food and service were both excellent, as always. We look forward to returning soon.

Between Citta di Castello and Sansepolcro opens the beautiful Tiber Valley and Citerna small medieval village dominates. Under a picturesque medieval walkway along the walls is the restaurant Osteria the Owls. Inside the restaurant a pantry of books dedic
In a glorious setting overlooking a magnificent Umbrian valley, this outstanding restaurant offers wonderful food in an artful, somewhat whimsical atmosphere full of art and color. You also can dine outside in the ancient walls enjoying the view. The ravioli with zucchini was the best pasta dish I had in my 10 days in Italy. The menu was creative and the owner very charming and helpful. The restaurant and the town were lucky finds!

We called in here with no reservation but were welcomed and taken to our table overlooking the city walls and beyond. The menu is handsome and varied. We chose the bruschetta and the meat slices as a couple. Our fiends went for the gnocchi and clams and loved it.Two fine bottles of local white and a red were an absolute delight. Service excellent and some English to help with selections , atmosphere was just about right and four mains and 2 starters to share, excellent wines weighed in at 143 Euro. Would be very happy to return to this establishment.
