We were staying nearby. Out side it looks like a roadside shop. Inside is simple but the menu is a wide selection of home styled Umbrian fare. The local house wine is good enough. This is not fine dining but the generous portions are a feature of this restaurant. Not really a tourist destination, but clearly popular with the locals. Decor is basic, so don't think romantic! But you won't leave hungry!

A busy little village trattoria up in the Lucchese hills with lovely views as you drive up. The pasta is superb and the mostly meat menu unusual and excellent. They also unusually have big salads as mains, 'insalatone's, mine was very refreshing. He had a chitarra di cinta senese, a sort of rib-eye pork chop on the rib. They were turning people away as we ate so they clearly have established now a good local reputation. Best to book then. Prices good, value for money.Gentile Wabamik, la ringraziamo molto della bella recensione che ci ha fatto. Distinta saluti Trattoria La Collina

Interesting place... we were the only non-italians there and did not understand everything what is going on. And the dinner started with some appetizers, proscutto, shells filled with meet. We continued with different types of pasta (I was full at this moment), but continued with great half-kilo meet stakes... and desert at the end.Everything was great, but some explanation (on english) would be nice.At the end - 25 Eur / person. Bargain! And it all lasted for 4 hours :)

This small restaurant is behind a butcher's shop. To call it cheap and cheerful would be accurate (we dined very well and paid 125⬠for eight people) but would undersell the overall experience. Full of Italians - no tourist joint this. The menu is limited, the decor is modest, but the steak and the mixed grill are excellent. Some side orders of chips, spinach and faggioli - and Bob's your uncle. Only open for dinner on Thursday and Friday but I think lunch is available on other days. Don't bother with dessert and instead just wander 50 yards down the road to the excellent gelateria. Highly recommended if you're happy with a great value steak and chips.

Fab restaurant. Run by a hard working family that have make this a local institution. Tucked in the hills about 25 minutes from Lucca. Good range of meat and fish dishes, all local. Super friendly staff. Interior is smart, spacious. Posh vibe but you can dress informally. Used for wedding parties. Large balcony. Large parking lot.

This restaurant is newly opened though it used to be situated up in the hills. The service and food was truly excellent and there were additional touches like an amuse-bouche before the meal and some chestnut sweets with coffee. The principal problem was the restaurant was too cold and couldn't be heated any better as there were insufficient heaters. Obviously this would be fine in the summer!

A wine restaurant where you can enjoy well-selected wines, the fruit of a long and continuous search that compliments the cuisine of Chefs Maurizio Marsili and Alessandro Lucchinelli. The chef wakes up early in the morning to make sure he can secure the b
I had lunch here on a rainy Friday in October 2018 en route from San Gimignano to Camaiore. It was somewhat tricky to find amongst the luxurious villas and mansions dotted around this rich, lush landscape on the outskirts of Lucca, but well worth the effort.I accepted the recommendation of Andrea, the patron, of a glass of La Goia di San Stefano which is produced just down the road and is a truly beautiful bianco on the palette, especially with seafood in which this extraordinary restaurant specialises. My starter was a crudità of several types of local fish and shellfish. Presented magnificently on a capacious platter, it was distressing to disturb it's perfection by consuming it, but consume it I did - with relish. My mains was a generous portion of Muggine, also a local fish, white and tender served with a herb and potato pastiche and delicious fresh baby leaves. There was a definite secret ingredient which I would guess involved caramelized lemon. It was truly brilliant. (Andrea, who had taken great pains to explain the menu to me in his easy going and engaging way, insisted on re-cooking the main course as I had left my table as it arrived for 2 minutes.)As a parting digestive and a gift I was given a local gin infused with a herb from a plant which grows only on the local beaches and is much prized for its honey. The bill came to â¬70 which in my view was well worth it.The bread, coffee and accompanying biscuits were all of exceptional quality. This is quite clearly an exceptional restaurant and will rank as the best ever of a month's holiday in AndalucÃa and Tuscany/Umbria. Don't miss it if you're ever in the area!

Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a restaurant located on the right side of the Serchio River,in the outskirts of Lucca. The Building dates back to the 1368, as the marble stone in front of the restaurant says, a period when the local merchants started to build
What a fantastic place to enjoy Dinner ,Location, Kitchen, Service, all fit in one word, perfect..This restaurant is family owned for over 200 hunderd Years and vibes the Tuscan air, pleasant and relaxing.Try the spaghettoni al guanciale, goes al dente in a big Sheep cheese bowl, stir with some crispy pork and put a on warm plate, a taste explosion, in what seems a simple recepy, less is more. The starter, being antipasto misto della case, is somthing to be proud of as kitchen chef, a large selection of Tuscan goodies, it made my day.Next time around, I will rush back, can`t wait, well thinking about that, It`s a great excuse to go soon.Keep this Gem for yourself please.

the restaurant is open every evening and on Sundays and public holidays for lunch
Itâs worth the curvy road drive from Stiava to get to this Mecca for delicious steak. The owner meets each patron warmly and his staff is courteous and efficient. My daughter and I had anchovies served with warm bread and butter for our antipasto. The anchovies were delicious. We had a gorgeous perfectly cooked bistecca for our main course served with hot freshly cooked French fries and spinach. With a drizzle of local olive oil the steak was superb. Though we were stuffed we had a tiramisu and Creme Brûlée for dessert. Both of us drank sparkling water, but observed a very nice local wine offering. This is what authentic Italian dining is all about.Donât miss il Pitoro!!
