We saw an ad on Facebook, and being in the immediate vicinity decided to give this restaurant a try - which turned out to be an excellent idea.Beba's is on the main street of the small village of Ornavasso, parking is easy, and you could probably even come by train, as the station is only a few steps away.Upon arrival we were greeted friendly and had a nearly free choice of seats in the very clean dining area, which is a fairly good interpretation of an American diner. The menu is divided into a "standard" part with quite economically priced meat dishes and a large choice of imaginatively named and combined pizzas - and a separate "meats of the world" menu with the more "exotic" (and pricier) items.Following the recommandation of our very kind waitress we chose a piece of Australian meat form the latter menu - and it was absolutely marvelous! Before the main dish arrived (we shared), we were treated to a very appetizing snack of "gnocco fritto" and Coppa. The main dish is served on a HOT stone plate, ideal for slowly enjoying the delicious meat which was cooked to perfection. The 300 grammes of meat fully lived up to the description - we have very rarely eaten such tender and tasty meat.It comes as standard with oven roasted potatoes, rice, and a skewer with grilled baby tomato and smoked Scamorza cheese - we had asked for an additional side order of grilled vegetables - both quality and quantity were more than OK.We finished with fresh strawberries and a lemon sorbet, plus excellent espressos - and decided to be back very soon. The bill came to 60 EUR for two, which isn't cheap, considering that we shared the main dish (but without any regrets - two main dishes would have been too much), but considering the quality actually good value for money.A VERY nice touch is that when you sign up for the restaurant's newsletter, and remember to mention the "magic word" when ordering, you're treated to not a "welcome drink", but actually a bottle of Prosecco sparkling wine.

RIght next to Ornavasso's shrine, highly recommended by local people, provides quite selected teas, desserts and cafes, all the more surprising in an old village bar's atmosphere, with old and new local family and community pictures and memorabilia.Lunch is reported to be good, dinner we will need to check out next time.

My husband and I had a wonderful meal here with our Italian friends. Our friend is an award winning Italian chef and he chose this restaurant as its one of his favorites. The menu is varied with a lots of choices, all excellent. It is easy to get to by bus or car as its right on a main road but certainly not noisy. To star I had a bean and pasta soup and then the home made canneloni which were both wonderful. To finish I had an apple tart with ice cream which was absolutely melt in your mouth. Would definitely put this establishment on our regular visit list!

Consigliatissimo!

We went for a wedding at lunch. Beautiful sorroundings with the pristine waters of the lake and a little village view. The food was very good. Appetizers with a good choice of cheese and ham delicacies and fried vegetables. Risotto done in an enourmous pan was delicious and the fassona meat incredible. Also the millefoglie dessert with raspberries was excellent. Great food in a wonderful secluded location.

Went there on a Friday night, rather late (9:30 pm) on a hunch and discovered an empty table outside,no sign that said "riservato".Sat down on the empty (no cutlery etc) but dirty table.Sat there for good 10 Minutes before the waiter decided to notice us while waiting on another table.Waited, waited, waited and after 10 further minutes the waiter decided to grace us with his attention. He asked us (barely comprehensible) if we had reservations. We told him,we didn't and he told us that the Restaurant is completely booked! What the heck? There where several empty tables and no sign of any reservation! And completely booked at 9:30?Why did he need 20 Minutes to tell us this?Honestly,we didn't feel welcomed and walked away-and we won't be back, that's for sure!

Local substance where you can find a genuine and caring cuisine for the raw materials and with a family service and attentive, but without unnecessary frills. The local motto is sufficient substance.
Over our 10-day stay in the Mergozzo area we came back to this restaurant 3 times, which says a lot! Carlo, the owner/manager, is wonderfully Italian in his hospitality and approach - will make you feel comfortable and at ease. Food is served with some fantasy and is very good too, sprinkled, naturally, with some local wine, chosen be the chef himself :) Not to miss if you are dining in Mergozzo!Asia_Be Dear, Thank you for your review, your opinion is very important to us! We thank you for the compliments, for us it was a real pleasure to meet you and we are pleased to know that we helped you to spend a nice holiday in Italy. We hope to see again soon.Roberta, Carlo & Moscato

The Mergozzo Birreria is the only place, right of the square, at the bottom on the edge of the Lake, the better placed, the friendliest specializing in beers of the world.Spritz, crodino, campari, prosecco, coffee, tea, chocolate,... all it takes for a romantic drink or with friends at the water's edge without being disturbed by people passing to or by the sounds and smells of cars, buses and motorbikes. You can also taste of excellent panini, delicious salads, pasta, charcuterie, served all day, all year round with kindness and smile of the server and the waitresses.ESPECIALLY NOT GO WRONG with the bar just before that wants to stop customers to install at its tables.Feel free to go there!

We came here for dinner because we read the menu out front, and the food was even better than it sounded. We started with the Antipasto di mare della Pagul, and it was all incredibly delicious... but the way the local trout was prepared made it unforgettable. My wife had the Spaghettini all' astice (incredibly delicious) and I had the Costata di Angus alla sau (wonderfully prepared), so we had a dilemma on which wine to choose. The owner, an extremely friendly and wonderful person, recommended a Lacrima Di Morro D'Alba as a neutral way out of our predicament, and she was absolutely right! We can't wait to go back to Mergozzo, and this will definitely be a regular place to eat each time we do.

Eat fine, drink better and laugh all together: this is the Italian magic recipe for a long happy life! Restaurant Ponte Bria welcomes you in the pristine nature of the mountains, with a breathtaking view over the Mottarone, a fine small fishing lake close
If you are looking for excellent food whist sitting in the calm of the countryside then this restaurant is perfect. The views from the patio are beautiful and the small fishing lake behind offers a picturesque backdrop. The food is delicious. We choose: soup, cheeses, hams, pasta and salad. Every dish was tasty and the ingredients fresh. We were there as a family however it would be a perfect place for anyone.
