I wanted to take in an authentic Italian restaurant and Anthonyâs Trattoria turned out to be the perfect spot. We began with freshly shucked oysters from Rhode Island and a Caesar Salad with a housemade dressing. This was followed by Florida Key Shrimp, heads still on, cooked in a spicy sauce. Bread board came out with prosciutto, two Italian cheeses and fresh figs. Many of their pastas are made on the premises. We had Tajarin al Granchio, an egg pasta with lump crab meat and garden fresh cherry tomatoes white wine and a hint of chili topped with grated tuna roe. In fact, there is a garden on the premises. Italians have their own version of stuffed cabbage called Involtini di Verza. Fresh savoy cabbage rollups stuffed with ground beef, pork, Parmigiano and ricotta cheese slow cooked in a garden fresh tomato sauce. Next came Risotto with spicy sausage and wild mushroom ragu which was followed with pan seared filet mignon in a black pepper cream sauce. I was stuffed more than the cabbage! Two desserts were chosen: Chocolate Cake and freshly made cannoli (They even make the shells).

"Mamma Lombardi's Restaurant" on Furrows Road in Holbrook has been "the place" to go for Italian food for decades. The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are huge. Most diners go home with enough leftovers for the next night's dinner at home!! The service is both efficient and friendly. The ambience in the dining room is perfect for a special night out. If you haven't been to "Mamma Lombardi's Restaurant" as yet, I highly recommend you plan to go in the near future.
Hubby and I love to try new pizza places around the area. We tried this place and was very happy we did. The pizza was great. I had chicken bacon ranch and marsala. Both very tender and not dry. Hubby has chicken parm and grandmas. Both very flavorful. They served our pizza on real plates . how classy is that? The desserts and gelato looked wonderful. We'll be back.!

Maybe I was not lucky and it was the first day for the waitress... She was very kind but didn't know her menu at all and couldn't answer any basic question except reading what was written in front of my eyes...The noodle were over cook and the sauce was discussing and the meat was ok...They give some little pizza slice as complimentary appetizer which was nice...The only good thing was the Tiramisu... Very good... However not listed on their menu, and even the waitress didn't mention it... I had to ask the chef who told me he had it available... Good thing I asked it did save the meal !

We were traveling to central Long Island for a family event, looking for a nearby decent place to eat. Originally thought Italian, but found this gem, and were happy we did.Attractive interior, and very thoughtful, informative service. They helped guide us to a wonderful steak dish, cooked on hot rocks as I recall, succulent. My wife's fish was good, not quite as exceptional. We also shared a huge, savory salad. An excellent Portuguese red wine, selected with the waiter's help. And leftovers for later lunch. What's not to like?

The pizza here is excellent and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Was there recently and saw a slice with some eggplant (which we liked) but the eggplant was not prepared as we would have liked - the gentleman behind the counter was quick to point out they could make a pie exactly as we wanted. We ordered one, as well as a few other pies, and they were all delicious! Definitely recommend!

This is my 2nd review of Gia's, the 1st written a few years ago. The reason for an updated review is my disappointment in all my visits since. Note: this is for the pizza side only. Saturday afternoon, 4pm. I was a few miles away and my daughter wanted pizza. Upon entering, the counter was pretty bare, and anything resembling pizza was burnt looking and old. It's nice to see the same miserable faces behind the counter. They don't smile or pay attention to you for longer than the few seconds it takes to take your order. They put the pizza in the oven and move on to the next person. Every. Single. Time. I have to ask them to take my food out. If I don't, it gets overcooked, crust burnt. They never give a receipt nor are there signs anywhere telling you how much anything is. Chicken bacon ranch slice? I think he called it? Old, hard chicken, cheddar cheese? And no ranch anywhere. Threw most of it out. The pepperoni pinwheel is always good. And the regular slice was ok. There were no knives or napkins in the dispensers. The garbage was full. The tables and floors were absolutely disgusting. I just stood there waiting for the young girl at the door to stop looking at us and get someone to wipe down a table. She finally looked annoyed enough and did it herself. I wish I could say that it was a one time deal, but the past few times we drove out of our way, it's just been bad. I'm disappointed. I used to love going here. What happened Gia's?
