Da Leonardo serves delicious authentic Italian food prepared with a fiery passion. Staff is friendly, prices are cheap, portions are big and the food is just to die for. Thin and crispy pizza's with copious fresh toppings. Big portions of pasta with a lot of flavor. Democratic prices you can't argue with. It just ticks all the boxes. Come with the family and enjoy the busy chatter and a fantastic meal. You won't be disappointed!

Dropping by at just before 2pm on a Sunday we feared a poor reception, but were met by all the opposite. We were warmly invited in and made comfortable by the courteous staff who immediately ensured our children were kitted out with colouring sheets and pencils. The dishes we ordered arrived quickly and were generally very good. We were also offered other 'comfort food' alternatives for the children in case we could not find anything on the menu to their liking. All in all and after reading some past reviews, it looks as though this restaurant has made significant improvements since it returned into the hands of the original family owners in the summer of 2015. There are surely still more to be done, but they seems to be on the right track.

We went for a long lovely walk all the way up to where the Piave river has its origins.... and back again. It was right in the middle of lunch and the place was pretty busy but nonetheless they were quick and efficient at seating us and getting the delicious food out. The only problem was that when we had to pay the card machine wasn't working and we had to pay cash which we didn't think about. We managed to ask our guest if they had any money and it was a little embarrassing. What would we have done if nobody had any cash on them?? Wash the dishes?? ;)

Dopo circa 20 km di escursione con partenza dal rif. Tolazzi e transito per pranzo al rif. Lambertenghi con visita al lago di Volaia e rif. Wolayersee, quindi salita al Rauchkofel, con ritorno per il Lambertenghi e sentiero Spinotti, meritato riposo al rif. Marinelli con cena, pernotto e colazione. Rifugio tenuto magnificamente, pulito, in ordine e profumato con bagni da hotel! Cena superba con piatti gourmet davvero deliziosi: Colazione normale e costi contenuti

Unforgetable!Fabrizia created a Vegan food menu only for me! Roberto found the complimentary wines!The atmosphere was wonderful and the evening was the highlight of my 3 weeks vacation.Thanks to Fabrizia I was finally able to eat something else than Pasta with Tomatosauce or grilled vegetables.Any special food required, call in 24hrs before hand and you will get what your tummy asks for.Also the standard menu looked great, the choice of wine is unlimited, over 800 different wines at your choice.Highly recommended, don't miss it when you are in the area!

We were just passing Sappada, wanting to make a coffee break. And boy what a break that was! After we entered the restaurant, smell was divine and realizing how many different profiles of people are eating at this place we thought the lunch would probably be a good idea.The food was delicious, service amazing (even though they did not speak any English) and hearing a chef signing from the kitchen, was almost unbelievable. He must be enjoying his job very much. After the lunch, with coffee we tried some cakes and could not stop trying only one (actually we had two each). All cakes were freshly made and tasted heavenly.If you're on your way through Sappada, break at the passage, where La Rustica Restaurant is, will definitely make your day!

di passaggio per salire alle sorgenti del Piave ci siamo fermati a pranzo in questo rifugio , piatti buoni e saporiti , buono pure il vino e il conto consono per quello che abbiamo mangiato , servizio cortese e nonostante non li avessimo avvertiti di un intolleranza ci hanno sostituito il piatto senza metterci in conto lo stesso .
