Find out what Italian restaurants to try in Lido di Ostia. Ostia (/ˈɒstiə/) is a large neighbourhood in the X Municipio of the commune of Rome, Italy, near the ancient port of Rome, named Ostia, which is now a major archaeological site known as Ostia Antica. Ostia (also called Ostia Lido or Lido di Roma or Lido di Ostia) is also the only municipio or district of Rome on the Tyrrhenian Sea and many Romans spend the summer holidays there. With about 85,000 inhabitants, Ostia is the first or second-most populated frazione of Italy, depending on whether Mestre is counted.

Went with some friends for a casual dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bistro has a nice rustic feel but at the same time an elegant ambiance--like a gastropub. The wait staff were terrific--very friendly and helpful with suggestions and they spoke English with us. We had the fish "menu degustazione" (tasting meal) as well as a primi (cacio & pepe pasta) and a secondi (meatballs) and shared it together with some good red wine (Nero D'Avalo). Everything was excellently prepared, well plated, and delicious. Prices were quite reasonable for a location that close to the beach. Highly recommend!

Excellent food & excellent service. "The Legend" is a restaurant to try should you decide to visit Ostia, the Roman district by the sea. Please note, "The Legend" It's not easy to find; look carefully for the small entrance door when you get at "via Bocche di Bonifacio".I was taken there by a friend who lives in Ostia, as this place is well known by the locals. It's a small and welcoming venue offering a relaxing atmosphere and, above all, excellent food. Maurizio, the owner, walked us through the small but remarkable menu. Food was exquisite. The bill was reasonable. The experience was perfect. If you like fresh fish, you will love this place.

Good restaurant and nice staff. Good selection of wine. The food is good and a little better than average. I was not particularlu impressed thoughThanks Andreas for your positive review, really hope to have the opportunity to host you soon again. With regards to the fact you have not been particualrly impressed, well... of course it depends on what you expected and which kind of comparison you are doing: actually we do not want to be a star Michelin restaurant, we do not want to be a trattoria; on the countrary we do want to provide our clients with a quite nice location, a good selection of wine and a menu better than average and differentiting from the tons of restaurants you can find around..... this is exactly what we do and, by the way, you also explicitly noticed it in your review :-)Kind regards, Giorgio.

In a small road in the center of Ostia Molo Diciassette is a small cozy restaurant serving excellent seafood. The menu is limited but all what we had was of very high quality. Interesting wine selection, original list of desserts, service precise and quick. Definitely recommended.

Welcome to our restaurant... We value the time you spend with us because we are passionate about valuable food. Roberto and Mirko will professionally wait on your every need while Valerio and his sous-chefs Jury are dishing out gourmet fancy food for you!
This restaurant is very beatiful and looks brand new, the prices are higher than average similar to US prices for example $7 Euros for a beer, however the setting is really nice and romantic especially during dinner time. It is all seafood so dont expect a carbonara here.Thank you so much for coming to visit us, Marilyn!!! We greatly appreciate you taking the time to review us!The beer mentioned is made in a traditional way. It's a craft beer. We have chosen a selected fish menu, sought in the selection of raw materials, in combinations with high-quality craft beer, over 50 wines, especially from Lazio. So the price is different from commercial products.Thank you for appreciating the atmosphere we have created for dinner! We hope to have you back again next time you're in Rome! Alessandro

Our Italian business partners had us take an early quit one sunny afternoon and we took the train to Ostia Antica where a professional English speaking guide gave us a thorough tour of the very well-preserved ruins. Much better than Pompeii! After the site closed at 1830, we took the train to the coast (3 stops?) and we walked to this seaside restaurant. Our hosts had pre-arranged everything. We started with glasses of pro secco as we watched the sunset from the water's edge, then the gastronomic spectacle commenced!First up was tuna tartare, chunks of melt in your mouth ahi in truffle oil. Second starter was very tender squid body stuffed with minced shrimp and basil with a creamy sauce, minced olives and crispy fried prosciutto. No rubbery calamari rings here! Third round was steamed mussels in a a delicious broth for bread dipping. Fourth - baked fresh (not salty nor "fishy!") anchovies in corn meal with pickled onion, rocket and a light fish paste sauce. Then onto a primo - creamy tomato rice with seafood bits and pomegranate pips. Then another dish - not really a starter. Nuggets of smoked ricotta, sun dried tomato, shaved cheese and pickled octopus. Crazy textures at work here! Seconni was a a filet of baked sea bass served on an orange reduction garnished with salty fennel, bitter chocolate and red currant. Are you full yet just reading this? We finished up with a freshly made lemon sorbet with fresh mint. Many many bottle of a flinty Chablis-type (or Mersault) white wine complemented all this seafood. Some Limoncello and grappa finished the evening before we sprinted to catch the last train back to Rome.An unforgettable meal in a beautiful setting.

Found this salumeria on Trip Advisor since we were attending the opera at nearby Ostia Antica. Great food - cheese plate, meat plate, various appetizers. Good prices. Friendly staff. Limited wine list. Good value. Restaurant is on one of the main piazzas of Lido di Ostia, so the area has some good energy.

We were staying at the associated hotel and ate here twice. Both times the food was fantastic, whith a real variety of antipasti, homemade pasta, a meat course and then a delicious dessert. The house wine was more than drinkable as well.
