The cafe is hard to find, a couple of doors down from Sunzibar. Although it does not look very impressive from the outside the pizzas are great. Approx 250pesos for a 10 inch and 520p for a 16 inch which is expensive compared to other local cafes.

The cafe is quite cute, they have a variety of selections from their menu. The prices range from 30-130 pesos. Tried their mango shake and was super yummy! This is one of the small cafe's one doesn't usually see in a province like city of Maasin.

I LOVE CANTO FRESCO! Here are the reasons why.FOODI love their food. I can't quite describe the theme of their menu. It's more of Mexican/Italian, I'm not sure. Most of their food are great like pizza, main courses and appetizers. Their main courses are for sharing and are usually served with rice and salad. Below are my favorites:Manic Meatballs - six very large meatballs great for sharing;Pesto Pork Steak - two pork steaks with a very delicious pesto sauce;Pesto Cheese Rolls - this is my favorite, the pastry is so soft and ugh, the cheese is to die for;Bacon N' Garlic pizza - just divine!Lemon Lime Pitcher - my favorite drink at Canto, a combination of the right amount of acidity and sweetness.I've tried their pasta but unfortunately, I didn't like it. This is the only reason why I couldn't give this review a five star. This is only my preference. Some people might like the taste of their pasta and perhaps I'm just not used to it.LOCATION/AMBIANCE/INTERIORSThe restaurant has a rustic theme that feels strangely homey. They also have outdoor seating which is always a plus. Inside the resto is a bit crammed but tolerable. It's almost like a hole in the wall kind of place.SERVICEThe service needs a bit of improvement. I personally do not have any problems with it but my dad thought that the staff were slow and slightly not receptive.PRICE/VALUEThe price points of Canto's dishes are slightly above average. It might seem pricey for others but seriously, one main course could feed two to three people so I think the prices are worth it. Almost everything is good. I used to come to Canto every week but I realized I would lose all my extra cash there. Haha. That's how good this resto is.Definitely try this place!

My wife has business that brings us to Tacloban every few months; this was our second visit to Giuseppeâs. From the first time we remember an excellent pizza and puttanesca, as well as an enjoyable chat with the owner who also introduced his wife and son Giuseppe, the namesake of the restaurant. On this trip there was no doubt we were going back, and it didnât disappoint.Tonight we ordered calamari and a Caesar salad as appetizers. Letâs just say I donât like calamari but this may have been the best Iâve tried - crispy, not greasy at all, very fresh and tender. Maybe this could finally get me interested. The Caesar salad was delightful. I think I can count on two fingers the times Iâve had house made Caesar dressing which is a creation of olive oil, egg yolks, anchovies, salt and pepper, not the creamy mayonnaise-y stuff that comes in bottles. This on crisp lettuce with croutons and Parmesan is a simple and perfect salad. For entrees we chose baked lasagna and chicken Milanese. The lasagna was excellent, my wife exclaimed that this was what she wished she could make. Simple sauce, gooey cheese, perfect pasta. The chicken was moist and tender, garnished with a creamy sauce with fresh mushrooms and just a touch of marsala.Yes I admit Iâm an American who loves Italian food and craves different cuisines after a while in the Philippines, but I honestly feel Giuseppeâs is as good or better than any Iâve had in America, and right up there with the cuisine Iâve experienced in Italy. Bravo!
