Things to do in Leimen
Near the Hotel Engelhorn - about 1.5 km there is a nice pizzeria called Flying Pizza. You can eat real Italian food, not just pizza but also pasta, etc. They provide here quite a lot types of pizzas, ranging from simple Margharita through the Hawaiian pizza and ending with our own composition, made of components selected by us. Food price is competitive, certainly we can not go bankrupt paying the bill here. To sum up - really interesting and pleasant place.

This little place is aptly named the Bunker because it is mostly underground and probably served as an actual bomb defense shelter (bunker) in the past. Now it is a cozy little restaurant and ice cream parlor offering Italian fare and specializing in pizza. The centerpiece is the wood-fired oven used to cook pizza and other dishes to perfection. The service is attentive and the prices are reasonable, so I recommend you give this place a try if you happen to be in the area. On a side note, this restaurant was always a favorite with American service members and their families stationed in the area. Now that they are no longer present, I suspect you will have no problems making reservations any time you desire.

For the second time ordered by phone but the Pizzas were never delivered. After an hour we called again and was told they had forgotten the order. Was much better in the past but Service and Quality has gone down a lot since the father is no longer in the kitchen.

We had some really good pasta for lunch here. Both dishes were fresh and delicious, the staff was friendly and the pricing not cheap but not too expensive either. Unfortunately the waiting time for the food was really long and there's plain bread, without butter or oil and balsamico served before the food.
Set in a sports complex with a large outdoor seating area. As there was a large party outside so we sat inside in the quiet. We ordered and it took ½ hour before a salad arrived and a further ½ hour before the accompanying main courses. No apologies or explanation. The meals were very ordinary. Both the red and white wines were the cheapest plonk. Definitely not something I would ever serve. A disappointing evening.

My family and I have been here multiple times. The food is amazing, the prices are decent, the atmosphere is friendly! On our first visit the staff even gave all the kiddos (even our 3 month old) stuffed animals! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicous italian food!

Went here for a meal for two. We sat outside. It's a bit rough and ready but ok. We had the antipasti - comprising the cheapest of prepackaged foods, it seemed - and a pizza. We were very disappointed by the quality of the food and the service was slow.

Wir sind ein kleines familiäres Ã-la-carte-Restaurant und bieten italienische Küche an. Es gibt ein gut besuchtes Mittag- und Abendgeschäft, mit einer festen und einer zusätzlichen wechselnden Monatskarte.
A small family-run restaurant that serves the best Italian food in the Leimen/Sandhausen area. They use fresh ingredients to make very good salads and the chef/owner will personalize a pasta dish just for you. Hint: ask if sauteed spinach is available --- it's the best we've ever tasted! It's located a bit off the beaten path but worth the trip to have a good Italian meal there.

Whilst parking outside the Engelhorn Hotel in Leimen near Heidelberg (see separate review), we realised that there was an Italian restaurant attached to the hotel. After settling into our room, we ventured downstairs to check âil caminettoâ out.On entering, we realised it was fairly busy and with only two front of house staff, we were left waiting for a table for a few minutes. That was soon rectified by the gentleman behind the bar and we were soon seated and given menus. The menu is fairly extensive and ranges from aperitifs to large meaty platters via salads, pizzas and pasta. There was plenty there to suit all tastes and appetites. We had both had a small mixed salad and a pizza rustica with a couple of half litres of Furstenberg beer from the Black Forest. The food arrived quickly and turned out to be delicious, the proscuitto on the pizza was particularly good. The salad had a variety of leaves with tomato and cucumber with a pleasant salad dressing. The beer was tasty and cold and slaked our thirsts.Iâd certainly recommend this restaurant, especially if you happen to be staying at Hotel Engelhorn.

I was for some weeks in Hedelberg and i had the chance to visit this wonderful location in a city far some miles for the center city of Hedelberg. Though the route it was more than worth to visit here. Got served a perfect Pizza Four Season and a cold beer. The waiters were always there if i wanted to order something or if i needed salt and pepper. So guys if you are looking for some quality and perfect italian food i totally recommend this restaurant!
